I am happy to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Anna Zibro. I am

honored that I can support the process of securing scholarships for her college
career. Ive known Anna and acted as her Girl Scout leader for almost 10 years
during her time with Girl Scouts.

Girl Scouts is an organization that focuses on teaching girls to explore leadership,

awareness, and community involvement. Our troop spent a good amount of time
and energy on community service as all of our girls identified the need for us to do
so. Some examples of the activities we have done over the years are: decorating
and donating a Christmas tree to a local family in need, volunteering time at our
local cat and kitten rescue shelter, volunteered an afternoon to do spring yard work
for a local elderly woman, helping serve at a local church community dinner, and
developed and facilitated several programs/events for Girl Scouts and local youth
dealing with issues such as bullying, self image, and networking. Anna was present
and involved in all aspects of all these events. She showed leadership, organization
and compassion.

Worth noting in addition to her community service throughout the years, Anna has
earned 3 very prestigious awards in Girl Scouting. Each award demonstrates Anna
has sucessfully identified an issue that she was concerned about within her
community and developed a project that addressed that need. The first award was
her Bronze in which she raised awareness and volunteered her time to the local cat
shelter Purrs and Paws. The second award was her Silver Award, which again raised
community awareness of the various animal rescues in our area. She helped
organize and lead a 5K race in which each runner would give a food/toy/supply
donation instead of an entry fee to run the race. She organized the event to have a
representative from some of the shelters present . The collected donations were
distributed to various shelters in the areas. The final award was the highest award
a Girl Scout can earn, the Gold award. Anna identified a need for organized
afterschool activities for our area youths. Most of the local afterschool programs
were sport focused, she identified and created a program for the kids who wanted
something other than sports. She worked with the local Elementary School to set
up the program which will continue on as an afterschool organization for years to
come.

It was a pleasure having Anna in my troop. She exemplified commitment to all of

our projects and activities throughout the years. She no doubt has contributed a
great many things to our community with all the time, focus, and effort she has
given during her time as a Girl Scout.
