What kind of job is best for you?

This quiz is designed to give you an overall view of your career aptitudes and interests. Please
answer the following questions Yes or No. There are no right or wrong answers.
1. Do you enjoy games that require concentration, such as chess or bridge?
2. If you had to take a course in school, would you select astronomy, biology, or math
rather than history, philosophy, or art appreciation?
3. Do you usually remember specific facts you have read or heard?
4. If you had your choice, would you rather do a few things very well than many things
fairly well?
5. Do you keep records, such as budgets, a telephone book of personal and business
numbers, and lists of things to do?
6. Do you keep up with new vocabulary in the fields of science, technology, and medicine?
7. As a child, did you enjoy taking things apart to see what made them work?
8. Were math and sciences easy for you in school?
9. If you were given a paid months vacation to France, would you spend the time
exploring Paris or some other place in depth rather than seeing all you could of the
entire country?
10. Do you usually prefer novels to factual material, such as biographies, business
publications, or scientific books and articles?
11. Do you usually prefer to spend your spare time with people rather than reading, or
pursuing a hobby you do by yourself?

much older or younger than you?

How to analyze your score:


1. If you have many more YES answers to the first nine questions than the last nine,
youre probably someone who enjoys jobs which require patience and attention to
detail (scientist, laboratory researcher, accountant, artist).
2. If you have many more Yes answers to the last nine questions than the first nine, your
greatest strength is in working with people (politician, lawyer, actor, waiter, athlete).
3. If your YES answers are fairly evenly divided between the first nine and the last nine
questions, youll probably be best in jobs where you have to work with people and need
a good background in your field (teacher, repairperson, banker, librarian, doctor,
nurse).
