Purpose of this manual is to provide documentation to guide you for your access through ESS portal in
ERP. This manual details the step-by-step procedures / process flow to perform relevant services that
are relevant to you in SAP ESS [Employee Self Service] system.
The ESS overview page displays a list of transaction types in the main window. Employees will see two
primary tabs Employee Self Service for all employees and Manager self-service will be additional tab
for HODs.

To further expand each Service Lane E.g. My Info, click on the Toggle setting icon at the top left of the
page.

Click on the individual services to expand the service lane as mentioned in below pictures.

Below services are available under My Info lane. Click on respective services to access.

1. Leave request
All leave requests can be created using this service from my info lane. Once you click on leave request
services from info lane below screen appears for application of leave.
Under Leave application You can apply for PL,SL,Unpaid,CL which will go for approval process .
Unpaid Leave This leave can be applied by the employee only when he/she has exhausted all leave
quotas of CL, SL and PL.
To apply half day leave enter start time & end time of leave mandatorily. Do not enter number of hours
for applying for half day leave.
To apply attandance correction select Out door duty or absence regularization with start time & end time.
For any missing punches use absence regularization with start time & end time.

2. Organization charts
Click on the organization charts service available in My info lane to view organization hierarchy of two
levels above and the immediate members reporting to you.
3. Employee profile
This service is used to see employees own personal details. Click on the employee profile service available
on the My info lane to open employee profile. This information will be available in the display mode only.

Below services are available under My services lane. Click on respective services to access.

1. Clock in and clock out display, view time balance and Holiday calendar.
To view punch-in and punch-out details for any correction apply Absence regularization from
leave request section.

2. Personal profile
Employee details like Address, Emergency address, Family member / dependents, Bank information,
Personnel ID are displayed.

Approval Lane:
All approval requests raised by sub ordinates are displayed in this lane.
Pending requests
are displayed.
Substitution:
Applicable when a leave manager wants to assign his responsibilities to someone in his absence.
In this application, the person acting as a substitute gets an overview of applications that are substituted
to them by a substituting manager. The applications can be started on behalf of the manager from here.
