Dedication

I dedicate this book to my Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ. Without you, I would be nothing, but with
you, I can accomplish anything. You are my life and
strength. Thank you for showing me what grace,
mercy and love is all about. May your kingdom come
and your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Like
Isaiah once said, Here I am, send me. Use me to
display your love in the earth until every nation
awakens to your love and peace.

This book is also dedicated to my parents, Pastors

Jim and Jeannie Lopez. You both have been the best
example of God's love I have ever known. You have
been my inspiration and anchor through the good and
the bad. May the glory of God continue to shine upon
you both with grace, mercy, and peace all the days of
your life. You both awakened to your divine destiny
and fulfilled it before the Lord. I love you both very
much.

10
Foreword

This is a time like never before that we need to

hear the voice of the Lord. There are a lot of
prophetic voices in the world and I have to
confess that oftentimes prophecy can appear to be
contradictory. This may not necessarily be
because of the accuracy of the prophet. But there
are many schools of training, old and new. Some
of our prophetic training methods are outdated
for this new season that we are in now.

Hearing the voice of God does not need to be

mystical. I like to think of the supernatural things
of God as being a natural part of our lives. That
would make us naturally supernatural. You do not
have to be a prophet to hear the voice of God. As
we develop this ability, it will help us to get into
our destiny much more quickly if we are able to

11
Taboos in the Prophetic Movement

hear God guiding us. It is also beneficial to us in

developing a deeper relationship with the Lord as
we know His heart and ways.

I was very excited when Jeremy asked me to

write the foreword to his new book. First of all,
Jeremy Lopez is by far one of the most accurate
personal prophetic ministers I have met. Hands-
down, he nails it more than anybody I know. He is
not only accurate in hearing the voice of God; he
operates in a very high degree of integrity. Jeremy
and I have ministered together for a number of
years, including private meetings inside of
Hollywood producers and prominent people in
the music industry. I'm telling you this because I
have learned a lot from this man of God and I
know that you will too as you open this book.

When I heard the title Taboos, I was

thinking of things that you should not do. But
after reading it, Jeremy talks about the things we
can do that will bring integrity back to the

12
Foreword

prophetic movement. This is very important

because the movement has suffered terribly over
the last two decades. But this does not mean that
we should throw the baby out with the bathwater.

We need to hear the voice of God. The Bible is

very clear that in the last days prophecy dreams
and visions will become more and more prevalent.
In fact the first book of the New Testament
Church, the book of Acts is packed with people
hearing God. And the last book of the Bible, the
book of Revelation, is all about the prophetic.
Jesus also modeled for us how to live a lifestyle of
being naturally supernatural and He was very
prophetic.

The prophetic movement has taken some hits

as there have been people who have not used
integrity with the public demonstration of their
gift. This is because people who naturally hear
God have suffered rejection. There has not been a

13
Taboos in the Prophetic Movement

lot of training for prophets at the local church

level.

So some prophetic people have not learned

that they need to bring their gift into submission. I
had to do this and as painful as it was at times, I
am grateful for those who have trained and
spoken wisdom into my life in regards to my
prophetic gift.

I have been hearing God all my life and have

been part of the prophetic movement since
the1980s. I have had the opportunity to minister
on stage with some very precious and powerful
men and women of God. As we begin laying a
foundation for restoration to the prophetic it is
important to realize that we are not doing this in a
dishonoring way. You will not find any finger
pointing, correction or judgments against anyone
in this book. Instead, a blueprint and plan on how
the prophetic ministry can be a function instead of
a title.

14
Foreword

Hearing God and applying it to your life can

seem like trying to harness rushing water or a wild
wind. Think about all the streams of teaching we
have received over the years. Some of them were
released for a specific time and season, while
others were meant for a region or group of people.
Depending on your experience, there is a good
chance that we all have elements of the old and
new in our styles.

Jesus talks about not being able to put new

wine into old wine skins. There are new wineskins
now emerging that will build on the foundation of
Christ, and also bring about some of the greatest
changes we have ever seen and need for this new
move of God upon us. Because we are coming out
of a strange season in which we have not seen a lot
of prophecies fulfilled, many people have fallen
into prophetic hopelessness.

Unrelenting disappointment leaves you

heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn
life around. Proverbs 13:12 MSG

15
Taboos in the Prophetic Movement

This book will help you to restore you from the

hope-deferred condition. As you apply the
principle here in, you will indeed see and
experience sudden good breaks and longings
fulfilled. God is renewing your hope and will
speak clearly to you.

If people cant see what God is doing, they

stumble all over themselves; but when they
attend to what he reveals, they are most
blessed. Proverbs 29:18 MSG

Expect to gain new vision and watch for God

to speak to you more clearly about your life and
destiny. This is a time in which God is giving us
an infusion of new hope. God is now blowing
upon the dry bones of the prophetic movement.
And He wants to blow new life into you.

Now hope does not disappoint, because the

love of God has been poured out in our
hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to
us. Romans 5:5 NKJV

16
Foreword

There is a strong anointing on this book and

Jeremys ministry that will open you up to hearing
God more accurately. Moreover, it will develop a
good foundation for God to build on and take you
to the next level of your life and ministry.
Whether you are just starting out or a season
prophetic minister, you will find great treasure as
you read it.

Get ready for a journey that will take you both,

high like Jacobs Ladder and deep into the Spirit
like Jacobs well!

Chapter One

Taboos in the
Prophetic Movement

Ephesians 4:11-13
And He Himself gave some to be
apostles, some prophets, some evangelists,
and some pastors and teachers, for the
equipping of the saints for the work of
ministry, for the edifying of the body of
Christ, till we all come to the unity of the
faith and of the knowledge of the Son of
God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the
stature of the fullness of Christ.

According to this scripture, the duties of the

five-fold ministers are to equip the saints for the
work of ministry, to edify the body of Christ, to

19
Taboos in the Prophetic Movement

bring about unity in the faith and knowledge of

Christ, to bring his Church to maturity. I believe
we are mature enough to talk about some of the
things that are going on in the Church and that it
is my duty to address them.

There are things about the Prophetic

Movement that nobody is talking about. I am
going to break the taboo and address some things
that need to be said!

I want people to research for themselves and

discover exactly what prophecy is and what the
prophetic movement is all about. Why has God
initiated the Prophetic Movement within the
earth? God has laid some things on my heart that I
think are important for people to know, but the
time has never felt right before. Now I believe I
have an avenue to release these things.

Over the years many people have asked me in

private at various conferences, life coaching

20
Chapter One

sessions and in emails what I think about this or

that going on in the Prophetic Movement.

There are things that happen that are just not

talked about and it is time to break the taboo and
address these issues. The Prophetic Movement is a
powerful gift from God, but as a prophet, I want
to bring some instruction and direction to it.

I dont often use this word, but I might even

say I want to bring some correction to the
movement. I want this movement to shine like a
brilliant diamond. God wants the brilliance and
radiance of the truth and authenticity of the
Prophetic Movement to shine out over the earth.
