POWER-POINT PRESENTATION:

RULES: EACH STUDENT WILL HAVE TO DO THEIR OWN PPP

The PPP will have to be a minimum of five slides but no more than ten slides, approximately 5 to seven minutes. In
this project you will have the opportunity to work in the preterit and talk about what you did in the past. You can
talk about the last time you went shopping, present pictures of the items you shopped for and describe the items you
bought. Were the clothes, shoes, etc. in style? Were the clothes loose or tight, what size, what color, what type of
materials: wool, leather, etc? Keep in mind that you will have to alternate between the preterit and the present. For
example: Ayer compr una camisa. La camisa es talla grande y de color blanco. Remember to use temrs to refer to
the past such as ayer(yesterday), hace _________ dias, (so many days ago) or el fin de semana pasado (last
weekend) etc. Talk about the shopping experience. Was it fun? Did you find: una ganga, una liquidacin?. After
the shopping you can close your presentation by including slides about going to eat, a movie or simply going home
because you were exhausted. EX: Despus(after) de ir de compras fui (I went) a comer con mi amiga Sandra a
Mc. Donalds. Comimos hamburguesas, papas fritas etc.

You can use pictures of your shopping experience or you can download pictures or artwork from the internet. I
encourage you use your own pictures as it will also give you the opportunity to work with technology.

The verb you will need to know in the preterit that we have not looked at in class is to go, I went. It is an irregular
verb and the conjugation is as follows:
Yo fui, T fuiste, l fue, Nosotros fuimos, Ellos fueron,

THERE CAN ONLY BE THREE STUDENTS TO A TEAM:

The video will have to be between five to 10 minutes. Not shorter than five minutes or longer than 10 minutes. In
the video all three students will have to have a speaking part. Each student will have to have at least 5 lines each.
Students will have to take turns filming so all three get a chance to come out in the video.
Use the vocabulary we have learned in class up until now. In your dialogue talk about the items and sales you are
looking for, EX: Yo busco una ganga. Vamso a la tienda que tenga (that has) una liquidacion In the dialogue talk
about what you are looking for IN THE PRESENT TENSE: zapatos, pantalones, blusas, camisas, etc. Yo busco
una camisa talla grande de color blanco. Use expressions between each other to talk about what you want, what
your size is, and what colors and materials you want. Mira esta blusa de algodn, me la voy a probar Qu
talla/nmero eres? Qu color prefieres? Soy talla grande/Soy nmero nueve Prefiero la blusa blanca Use
expressions such as Qu te parece?(What doyou think) Te gusta cmo me queda? (Do you like how it fits me?)

about what your opinion is about the items you are shopping for. Remember to look at the vocabulary list in your
textbook found on CH 2B and the extra vocabulary we went over in class.

You can set up a clothing shop simulation at home or at school if you choose to film at school. If you choose to film
at a store you will need to ask permission to film at the store you go to and explain you are doing a school
project prior to the filming. It is your project and you will need to have your parents sign a video production
permission slip especially if you plan to film in a public place. Please be mindful that you will not be getting a
grade should you videotape your project and I do not get a permission slip by your parents.

*************Alternative to Video: If you do not have a video camera and /or your parents do not sign the
video production permission slip, your options are the Power point Presentation or a skit you will present in
class. If for any reason you cannot do any of the three options please come see me ASAP.
Video Recording Parent Permission Slip for Spanish II Semester Project

2-10-13

Dear parents:

This is an exciting time for the Spanish II students as they are motivated about their semester project. Your son/
daughter will be working on a semester Spanish project that will involve recording a video. He/she will be working
in groups of three and can either record a video or present a skit in class. The topic is shopping and acting out a
dialogue in Spanish that students will develop on their own. They can videotape at school or at the home of one of
the students in the group and/or at a public shopping clothing store. Should they decide to go to a store, they will
need to discuss it with the store manager and ask for permission to record. Although this can be fun, it may require
some work as far as going to the store and asking for permission etc. On the other hand, this experience will give
them the opportunity to apply their Spanish skills out in the real world.

With this signature I give permission to my son/daughter to film a video and will not hold Judson ISD responsible
for any unforeseen problems or liability issues that may surface in a public setting.
