ABSTRACT: This article proposes a thinking if art could also be entertainment without being
less artistic. To enlarge this discussion we brought two recent events, the game exhibition in
the Venice Biennale in 2011 and the games acquisition by the Museum of Modern Art of New
York. This thinking is sustained by the understanding art in a systemic way where art could
be in constantly in interaction with technology, gaming and entertainment.
Damien Hirst, com sua caveira cravejada de diamantes (For the Love of god),
Ambos so artistas

NOTAS
1
Traduo livre, original: The assumption that artistic practice can be neatly organized into a small set of distinct
mediums has continued to structure the organization of museums, art schools, funding agencies and other
cultural institutions -- even though this assumption no longer reflected the actual functioning of culture.
2
Traduo livre, original: Artists developed new techniques of encoding information while listeners, readers and
viewers developed their own cognitive techniques of extracting this information. The history of art is not only about
the stylistic innovation, the struggle to represent reality, human fate, the relationship between society and the
individual, etc. it is also the history of new information interfaces developed by artists, and the new information
behaviors developed by users.
