Students will
Simplify an expression using the Order of Operations.
Interpret expressions without simplifying them.
Identify relationship between corresponding terms in two patterns.
Represent points in a coordinate plane.
1. Step 1: Break students into 3 groups. First rotation will take 15 minutes.
a. Low Students: Work on Activity Card: On Level.
i. Students will work on exploring writing and solving
math expressions.
b. Middle Students: Start with teaching: Class Activity p. 215-216
i. Read through definition of express, and the
examples of expressions and computation in words.
ii. Then provide explicit teaching problems 1-5.

c. High Students: Students will start working on 7-1 Rem/HW on
their own
2. Step 2: Rotate- 20 minutes
a. Low Students: Move to teaching.
b. Middle Students: Practice

a. Low Students: Practice
b. Middle: Explore

1. Step 1: Students will turn in their HW right away in order to check their
understanding.

i. Students will work on exploring writing and solving

b. Middle Students: Start with teaching: Class Activity p. 219-220
i. Read through definition of simplify, and the order of
operations.
ii. Then provide explicit teaching for problems p. 219
1-2, 11-12, p. 220 13, 15.
