Report on RMLNLU MUN 2012

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University hosted its first edition of Model United
Nations from 2nd November 2012 4th November 2012 with the tagline NLU MUN 2012 : An
Era Begins

As of today, there are 3,821 people who have liked the page and a total of 3,267 follow the page.

The registration fees for the event was Rs. 1500 which included accommodation , four meals a
day, for two days (including breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner) and local conveyance .
The college also booked a TATA Luxury Coach from New Delhi to Lucknow for the conveyance
of the delegates.

A workshop was organized for the delegates participating in the MUN and they were provided
with Conference Handbooks as well. Hosted at the university campus itself, the MUN had 7
committees with numerous participants, and the prize money adding up to Rs 1 lakh.

In its very first edition went international with delegates from over 10 countries participating
and 3 International Vice Presidents.

Pursuing her Global Master of Arts in International Relations, Johns Hopkins University-
Nanjng University Centre for Chinese and American Studies.

Ms. Milagros Goanzalez Zelaya, Taiwan (Vice President)

Political Science at National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan.

Ms. Valeriya Khysheva, Russia (Vice President)

Pursuing an Intensive University Program on World Economy from Far Eastern Federal
University, Russia.

The event was spiced up by arranging for two telescopes from the local planetarium which were
capable of visualizing suns surface for stargazing during the entire course of the MUN, truly
justifying its catchy phrase Diplomacy with a hint of stars. A newsletter Dawn was also
published by the International Press in three Editions.

This event was recognized by the Central Government as well by means of a letter of
appreciation by Dr. Shashi Tharoor ( then Member of Parliament , Lok Sabha) expressing his
appreciation for this welcome initiative by the student fraternity of the university and wishing us
luck.
It was a brilliant event, and it happened just right to prove itself to be one of the best events in
the City.
