Opening/Activator: Students will be given a clue word for an operation problem.
They will move about the room to sort the words.

Lesson Outline
Work Session (student-centered): Students will: (1) Include notes in notebook. (2)
Complete practice sheets using cooperative learning.

Closing/Assessment (Sharing/Summarizing/Reflecting): Ticket out the door


Students will complete summative assessment in order to form groups.

Homework: Math Textbook Pages 50 #s 8-12.

Lesson Outline Opening/Activator: Students will be given a clue word for an operation problem.
They will move about the room to sort the words. Students will use the
classroom iPad mobile lab to scan QR codes to determine if their answers
are correct.

record calculations with numbers, and interpret numerical expressions without
evaluating them. (MGSE.5.OA.2) We will use Nearpod, an interactive
classroom tool to engage students with an interactive lesson.

Work Session (student-centered): Students will: (1) Include notes in notebook. (2)
Complete practice sheets using cooperative learning. Students will use
educational galaxy to practice solving problems writing simple expressions.

Closing/Assessment (Sharing/Summarizing/Reflecting): Ticket out the door


Students will complete summative assessment in order to form groups. Students
will use Padlet, a virtual wall to express their thoughts and show their
understanding of todays lesson.

Homework: Math Textbook Pages 50 #s 8-12. Students will use splash math
for additional practice with writing simple expressions.
