CHS Statistics

Our job for this statistics project was to be managers at Chick fil A. Our goal
for this sample survey is to find out what products we are selling that are
flourishing with the people and how often people are coming back. This will help
our business understand what we need to stock more of and how pleased people
are with our service. It will also show us which products we should try to improve on
or make more appealing. The population we have chosen is Cardinal Wuerl North
Catholic. To acquire the best results, we have decided to do a random stratified
sample.
To conduct our random stratified sample survey, we first made a survey. It
included two multiple choice questions and one fill in the blank about how often
people went and on average how much did they spend. We also asked what meal
they would purchase. Then we picked random people, eight in each grade, at north
catholic and handed out the survey for the kids to fill out. After we collected our
data we displayed it in a different variety of charts to help our business know what
we are doing well and some things that we may need to change. These graphs will
help to make a visual for our company to look it, so it can easily interpret the data
collected.

class. This means that we are showing how many people in the survey chose which
option.

Range of Data Set:
The range for the question How many times a month do you go to Chick fil a? is
14. This was found by taking the maximum response, 14, and subtracting our
minimum response, 0. The range shows how spread our data set is.
IQR of Data Set:
The interquartile range for the data set was 6. This was calculated by taking our
third quartile value, 8, and subtracting our first quartile value, 2. This shows where
the main bulk of where our data set was located and how spread out it is.
Mean of Data Set:
The mean of our sample data set is 5.5. This was calculated by adding up all of our
data values and dividing it by the cumulative frequency. This tells us the average
amount of times our customers visited our restaurant in a month.
Standard Deviation of Data Set:
The standard deviation of our sample data set was 4.0. This was calculated by
taking the summation of the midpoints minus the mean, squared, and dividing it by
our cumulative frequency minus 1. Then we took the square root of that value to
get our final sample standard deviation. This tells us that on average our data
values differed from the mean by 4.0. Using Chebychevs theorem we can
determine what percentage of our data lies n standard deviations away from our
mean.

To The Nearest Dollar How Much Do You Spend Each Time You Go
To Chick Fil A?
We used the stem and leaf plot to give a visual of how much money people spend
at our Chick-fil-a on average. This can help us to see how many customers are
spending a good amount of money each time they visit our Chick-fil-a and will tell
us if we need to adjust our business if our customers are not spending enough
money on each of their visits in order for us to make a good profit.
