Introduce the Rodel Teacher Council

Share our vision and policy recommendations
for personalized learning
Discuss how the Rodel Teacher Council and the
State Board of Education may work together
Who is the Rodel Teacher Council?

26 teachers representing traditional public schools, charters

schools, vo-tech, and higher education in all three counties.
Focused on:
The future of teaching and learning in Delaware
Elevating the voices of teachers on behalf of our students
What Weve Been Up To
Our Vision:
Personalized Learning School
Models and Educator Roles
To implement fluid and flexible education models based on
student interests, competencies, and educator expertise, the
learning experience should extend beyond the confines of a
classroom, the hours of a traditional school day, and a
single teacher.
Personalized
Professional Development
Just as students can drive their own learning,
teachers also have choices when it comes to
their professional development, including when,
where, and how they receive their professional
development as well as the content.
Standards and Assessments to
Support Personalized Learning
Our focus is on students mastering content, not
just moving through it based on an arbitrary
timeline. Students receive ongoing feedback in
real time to show progress and demonstrate
mastery, work on real-world projects, and
develop agency.
