Steps for creating parameter

1. Right-Click on Parameter in the Report Data pane

2. Select Add Parameter; the following screen is displayed

3. To create a parameter that allows data to be selected according to year of the
record using the database: Adventure Works DW

4. Click on the Available Values tab to define values for this parameter

5. Default values for this parameter can also be chosen, this is done by clicking
on the Default Values tab in the same window pane
6. After defining the parameter properties, as shown in the screenshots above.
Click on ok.
7. Here we are creating a second parameter; to choose a business type.

a) Create a data Source

b) Create a query using Data Set.

8. The user can then define a second parameter for selecting the business
type. The above steps for creating a parameter are then repeated:

9. Preview the report; the parameter appears on the top as shown below.

10.Click on the dropdown and all the Available Values defined earlier appears as
shown:

11.This allows the user to view the report according to calendar year that the
latter has selected.

12. The user can also select the Business Type: Warehouse, Value Added Reseller
and Specialty Bike Shop and view the report according to his selection.
