Prayer: Serran Prayer for Vocations

Secretarys report: Minutes were looked over & Nancy Rices name was omitted from the last
meeting as having attended so minutes were approved with the addition

Treasurers report: Beginning balance: $6,965.49 Ending Balance: $7,400.49 with deposits
of $800 for dues, $60 for Chasubles and $75 in Memorials.

Committee reports:

Membership: no report

Vocations: Mel Spader:Mel was not present. Battle Creek has formed a Vocation Committee.
No appointments have been made with Stanton, Madison or Pierce Priests.

Communications: Sandy Moser read an Easter greeting from a seminarian

Program: Paul & Sue Weeder were unable to give their program on their trip to Rome. Dave
Lux introduced us to another useful Faith tool found on the internet called Benevore.net. The
site was introduced to students at Seek 2017 and is aimed at millennials. It still is useful for the
general public with great articles, videos and etc. Dave talked about Pope Francis article on
Intentions for this year

Old Business:

Vocation Summit report: Ivan, Mary, and Kathy attended and Mary gave a detailed report on
the day. Find her notes below

Leadership training: April 21, 3-7 pm - Kathleen & Linda will be attending

Bus trip for Deacon Ordination: Announcement: Please join the Serra Club of the Norfolk Area at St. Cecilia Cathedral
for the Ordination Permanent Deacons on Saturday, April 29th. We will take a chartered bus from Norfolk and will attend Ordination,
the reception immediately afterwards and then have lunch before returning to Norfolk. We will leave Norfolk at 6:30 or 7 am and
should be back in Norfolk by 5pm. The cost is $25 per person. Please call Mary Lux at 402-841-4016 with any questions. Please
register for the trip by sending your money and contact information to Marilyn Kathol at the Sacred Heart Parish Office at 204 S. 5th
Street, Norfolk, NE 68701 by April 7th. Checks can be made to the Serra Club of the Norfolk Area.

Servers Award night: Kristi said they had great attendance. Father Keiter suggested a site at
each Deanery for the awards.

Catholics at the Capitol report: Linda reported they had a good meeting. Senator Tom Briese
said he was there to talk and to contact him whenever. Talks were about school vouchers.

College Connection: Jerry updated us on the College Connections that the Newman Center has
taken over. He handed out cards for seniors to sign and send in to Father Ross , Kristi Steffen
and the ladies from Battle Creek

New Business:

Archdiocesan Directory: Updates have been sent for our meeting date which is the 2nd
Thursday of the month and to Change Sue Weeder to President of the club

Nominating committee: Linda & Dave will talk after the meeting

Chaplains Comments: Father Ross also attended the Vocation Summit and agreed with Mary
Van Dyke that it was a good summit. He talked about the 10 men we have starting the
seminary and if 5 get ordained we can keep going with the Priests we have for our Parishes.
Keep praying for our Priests!
