INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

Indian Ringneck bird the rose-ringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri), also

known as the ring-necked parakeet, is a gregarious tropical Afro-Asian parakeet

species that has an extremely large range.

Now a days most of the breeders are exerting efforts to maintain a good

pairing management to avoid repeatedly inbreeding of closely related birds. This

issue is crucial to any breeders as it is affecting the health of the as flock

because they become weaker when being paired with the same bloodline

repeatedly. As such, time, money and efforts can be a waste if pairing will not be

monitored. The proponents found out that breeders are using a log book to

record the details of every hatched egg that it includes, date hatched, father,

mother, leg band, baby birds mutation and the parents mutation.

Using computerized system, the beneficiaries will no longer need to keep

a compilation of log books where it is hard to track the information needed when

deciding to pair the birds. They will also monitor the current number off eggs

easily track the location of the birds, generate the list of the for sale birds,

generating five years pedigree

1 and managing schedule of egg candling. Using

this system would only require them an android device connected to the internet

where they will save all the changes made in the records.
 Indian Ringneck bird is available in a variety of different language,

enabling international trader to use all different feature and services with a

maximum amount of comfort.

 The conceptual framework of the study uses input process output

(IPO) whereas the input of the study that the researcher aims to determine is the profile

internet. As the users, they can manage the application using back end page

and registered users.

1.3 Statement of the Problem

recording that prone to repeatedly inbreeding of closely related birds. This issue

is crucial to any breeders as it is affecting the health of the as flock because they

The following are the specific problems of this study:

1.4 Objective of the Study

The main objective of the research is to provide an Indian Ringneck online

breeding management android application with a security in dealing process and

to be more organized and more functional in the pairing processing.

Specific Objectives:

1. To provide secured files that can prevent unauthorized person to access.

2. To create a system that will easily track all the records of the birds.
3. To create a system that will replace manual operation in handling records of

the birds to make the process become fast.

4. To create a system that will avoid redundant of records of birds by using a

database.

1.5 Significance of the Study

The Indian Ringneck Online Breeding Management and Android

Application will help the breeders to easily manage their aviary, faster transaction

for breeders and the buyers. It is one stop android app for Ringneck lovers all

around the Philippines for breeders looking for a desired kind of birds and meet

respective and trusted breeders here.

Beneficiaries of the Study

 Breeders: This study helps the breeders understand the process and enable

to evaluate or asses the problems encountered in online breeding

management.
Future Breeders: The findings of the study will help them a lot in studying

the possible process of online breeding management.

The Researchers: This study will definitely benefit the researchers beacause

it enhances the proponents capability to complete a designated task. It also

opens the door for new ideas.

Future Researchers: Through this study, they will have an effective way of

showcasing what they have learned and come up with an output, in the form

of making research study that would be of benefit to others. This study serve

as background and added information on how to establish a successful start

in breeding management, this study will also enable the researcher to be

more resourceful and studious in the field of this study.

1.6 Scope and limitation

Scope:

Generally, the proposed system intends to alleviate the unsecured dealing

process, add more functions on the system that will make the manual recording

process of indian ringneck become easily and secure. The proponents will use

Android 4.1 OS and above with 5.5 inches display screen and all data will be

saved using MySql on a hosted server. The programming language that will be

used for developing the application is Java under Android Studio, framework, and

SQLite for the backend.

The following are the scope of the study:

 Pairing management of indian ringneck.
Creating profile for the breeders.
The application has a notification for the for sale birds to easily find by the

breeders.
The breeder can track the successful transaction of buyer from the seller.
Users profile can be a buyer or a seller.

The proposed study includes the following module:

Registration Module: This module is for newly joined members and they

have to provide their personal information and register to the system in able

to gain login credentials.

Login / Logout Module: This module is for members that will have their

username and password after the registration and they can view their

account and benefits from other functions of the system built for their

convenience.

Profile of Users Module: This module is for members that they can able to

attach picture they want on their profile page.

Bloodline / Pairing Management Module: This module provides

information of the ancestors of each bird to avoid inbreeding pairing.

Features to View Module: This module is for members to be able to view

the for sale birds. Once, the buyer click the bird they want to buy the details

of the seller will appear. The buyer will send sms to the owner through the

contact number indicated by the seller. When the bird was already purchased

the owner will mark 6the bird sold and indicate the person who bought of his

bird to keep it as his records.

 Notification Module: This module is for users to be notified for new post of

for sale birds.

Family Tree / Pedigree Module (5 years generations): This module

provides family tree of each bird with some details of their ancestors. Keep

track of the bird as it grows from chick to adult by rating along the way

showing clearly their development progress. The number of bird per cage is

not necessary needed it is depends on the owner.

Limitations:

1. The system is only for indian ringneck breeders.

2. Works only in Android 4.1 and up.
3. The system can't provide the computation of the genetic mutation of the birds

accurately because its too broad and the time is limited.

1.7 Definition of Terms

Aviary A large cage or a house or enclosure in which birds are kept

(dictionary.com, 2011). In this study aviary is used as the room of indian ringneck.

Database A database is a collection of information that is organized so that it

can easily be accessed, managed, and updated (techtarget.com, 2012). In this

study, the database is where all data that is gathered will be stored for the use of

system in order to generate useful information.

Egg candling is a method used in embryology to study the growth and

development of an embryo inside an egg (Wikipedia.org, 2009). In this study, it is

 a process of every hatched egg that it includes, date hatched, father, mother, leg

band, baby birds mutation and the parents mutation.

Framework is a programming infrastructure created by Microsoft for building,

deploying, and running application and services that use .NET technologies,

such as desktop application and Web services (Webopedia.com, 2013). In this

study, it includes a large number of libraries that will help the developers in

creating programs and provides interoperability between programming languages

that uses the .Net Framework.

Java is a trademark a programming language especially applicable to the

internet (dictionary.reference.com, 2012). In this study, it is a programming

language for creating application.

Module In Computer Science, is a portion of a program that carries out a

specific function and may be used alone or combined with other modules of the

same program (thefreedictionary.com 2012). In this study, the whole system is

composed of different modules, each has different kinds of roles, that is put

together in order to perform the task that is needed in breeding management.

MySQL is a free open source relational data base management system which

is used to create relational data base structure and use SQL (structured Query

Language) to manipulate data on a database (techterms.com,2013). In this

study, the proponent used MySQL to manage all the data that is stored in the database.

Operating System (OS) is a software program that enables the computer

hardware to communicate and operate with the computer software

(computerhope.com 2013). The operating system is one of the key parts of this

project wherein without it, the proposed system will not run.

Programming Language An artificial language used to write instructions that

can be translated in to machine language and then executed by a computer

(answers.com 2012). In this study, java is the programming language that the

proponents used in order to develop the said system.

Software is a general term for the various kinds of programs used to operate

computers and related devices (techtarget.com 2012). In this study, the system

that is being developed is called software.
