Speech Title: A Life as a CNA

Introduction:
According to allnursingschools.com, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) provide
intimate, hands-on healthcare to patients in medical settings, helping with bathing,
dressing and the basic activities of life.

Hook: Being a CNA dont always means working at a nursing home caring for
the elderly, wiping their bottom and changing their diapers.

I. Ethos: I been a CNA for almost a year, at first I thought I wouldnt love being
a CNA because of how others described it but through my journey and
experiences I learned to fall in love with it.

II. Thesis: I want others to know more about being a CNA and their purpose.

Conclusion: A certified nurse assistant is someone who comes in to help make lives a
little easier. We provide basic daily living care to those who need that extra bit of help.
We help out the nurses who have a million different things on their agenda. We are the
understaffed population you see running wild in nursing homes trying to give baths and
keep residents happy and healthy.

This job is not for everyone, I love being a CNA. I have the opportunity to be part of their
life, I get to hear about their amazing stories. I was able to see residents reunite with their
old war buddies during the World Wars and to see two resident fall in love again. I am
there for them to the end.

As a nurse we have the opportunity to heal the heart, mind, soul, and body of our
patients, their families, and ourselves. Maya Angelou
