opportunity to work on R&D programmes of national importance relevant to the DAE
mandateinoneofthefollowingadvancedresearchcentresoftheDepartment:

3.RajaRamannaCentreforAdvancedTechnology(RRCAT),Indore
4.VariableEnergyCyclotronCentre(VECC),Kolkata SprayPyrolysisTCOLayer
UltrasonicSprayPyrolysisforTCOLayerDeposition,
5.AtomicEnergyRegulatoryBoard(AERB),Mumbai ProductionVolume

Upto20KSKRAscanbeselectedeveryyearandpaidastipendofRs26,000(likelytoberevised)+benefitsforamaximumperiodof2
years. Anytime during the 2nd year of associateship, subject to satisfactory performance, the KSKRAs will be absorbed in one of the
abovegivenR&DunitsofDAEandappointedinthegradeofScientificOfficer/EngineerD/E.

EligibilityCriteria

Minimumeducationalqualificationandexperience:

ForEngineers:Ph.D.degreeinEngineering(thosewhohavesubmittedthesisforPh.D.mayalsoapply)orMastersdegreein
Engineering(M.Tech./M.E./M.S.)withaminimumof2yearR&DexperienceafterobtainingM.Tech./M.E./M.S.degree.
ForScientists:Ph.D.degreeinScience(thosewhohavesubmittedPh.D.thesismayalsoapply).

AllcandidatesmusthaveaFirstClassateitherMastersorBachelorslevel.
Preference will be given to the candidates who are currently working in the field of Thrust Areas of DAE (
http://www.barc.ernet.in/webpages/brns/brns_fellowship.html).
AllcandidatesmustprovidealistofpublicationsinsupportoftheirR&Dexperience.

Nationality/Age:

Indiannationalswhoarenotmorethan32yearsason1January2012.Theagecriterionis
relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. The SC / ST / OBC certificate should be as per the
prescribedformat.Physicallychallengepersonsareeligibleforagerelaxationof5years.

SelectionandAppointment:

Selection will be done by an interview committee ( appointed by BRNS ) from among the shortlisted candidates based on their
qualification,publishedR&Dworkandperformanceintheinterview.TheselectedcandidateswouldbeappointedasKSKRAforaninitial
periodofoneyear,whichisextendablebyonemoreyearbasedonperformanceduringthefirstyear.KSKRAswouldbepaidamonthly
stipendof 26,000+benefits.
ThosecandidateswhohaveCURRENTSCIENCE,VOL.102,NO.11,10JUNE20121593submittedtheirPh.D.
thesis but are yet to receive their Ph.D. degree, if found suitable by the interview committee in view of their
expertise and academic record, would be first designated as Research Associate ( RA ) and paid 22,000per BA/BCom/
monthandonlyaftercompletionoftheirPh.D.andobtainingaprovisionalcertificate,theywouldbedesignatedas
KSKRAandpaid 26,000permonth.
Bsc
Admission
Forallotherbenefits,theirdateofjoiningasRAwillbetreatedasthedateofjoiningKSKRAScheme.Inaddition
10,000 per year will be paid as Educational Material Allowance. Associates will be provided Hostel 2016
accommodation,medicalandleavebenefitsduringtheAssociateship.
