JOB PROFILE

Job Title: Project Assistant (Livelihoods)


Position: 1
Location: Hlaing Bone
Grade: 5
Reports to: Project Officer (Livelihoods)
Reporting to position: Outreach Workers
Budget Responsibility: none
Child Protection Level: 3 (The responsibilities of the post require you to work directly
with children or young people, individually or in groups)
Job Purpose:

To manage field teams in implementation of complex Cash-for-work or in-kind distribution


projects

Key accountabilities:

1. Setting up system of managing implementation of plans e.g. work planning, monitoring


delivery of outputs
2. Liaising with management upwards e.g. in refining plans, communicating needs in the
field to ensure delivery, reporting on progress
3. Staff support, e.g. team-building, mentoring of staff, accessing staff needs &
identifying resources to address them, staff training
4. Coordination with support departments, particularly Logistics & Finance to ensure that
agreements with suppliers are in place & they are clear about delivery plan
5. Ensuring that data is collected by field staff to track indicators for reporting on M&E
plan
6. Ensuring Safety & Security of staff
7. Monitors and reports any developments that need to be considered in the delivery of
humanitarian assistance
8. A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation and non-discrimination.
9. Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Person specification
• High school or equivalent education, University Degree is preferable

• Three years professional working experience, development sector preferable
• Professional working experience with international organizations preferable
• Proven team working ability
• Good communication skills
• Computer proficiency (or at least willingness to learn)
• Ability to live and travel in remote locations,
• Interest & willingness to learn from community
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.

Child Protection:

The responsibility of the post may require the post-holder to have regular contact with children
or young people and, in the overseas context all posts are considered to be level 3 posts in view
of potential situations which may allow expatriates unsupervised access to vulnerable children
and young people.
