Beauty in Art
Twyla Tharp once said Art is the only way to run way without leaving home. Art is
filled with beauty, secrets, emotions, and many surprises. An artist has control over his brush as
he paints his way through the canvas. Many people look for ways to run away and spend alone
time. Some may escape the world by listening to music, going for a walk, and even from
painting. Painting allows the artist to free his/her mind and escape into their own world through
Throughout the article Romanticism many romantic artists have used art to display
emotions. Romanticism is described to be as the rise of art during the late 18th century. During
this time the French Revolution war was occurring and many Romantic artists painted their life
away. One of the many reasons why the emerge of art occurred during the late 18th century was
Romantic painters portrayed their emotions on their canvas. These painters painted what
they were feeling on the inside. The Romantic artists paint what they witness around them as
well. During the French Revolution war, there was a lot of chaos and emotions all around. There
were plenty of deaths and children being left without parents. Each portrait that a Romantic
painter draws tells a story. These stories can either be joyful or sorrowful memories from the
painter.

the landscape in Italys countryside. His art piece shows exactly what
memories. In this piece of art, he draws himself to be very sad and not
enjoying his childhood like any other regular child would. He informs the
viewers by his art piece that he had a rough childhood by the dark clouds
The nature that these Romantic artists paint also tell a story of what
the scenario appeared to be during the French Revolution. There are many
nature taking lives of innocent people, and much more. Since nature is
very powerful Romantic artists added the features of nature in their art
work. Romanticism was a peak of the French Revolution war through the
eyes of Romantic artists. Each artwork tells a story, the gallery that
piece.
As a matter of fact, after viewing all of the engaging art pieces presented in the gallery,
there were about five pieces that caught my attention. Each piece of work is a story told by the

painter through art. These five pieces of art work left me wanting to know more about each one
of them. The five pieces that Ill be mentioning are Evening: Landscape with an Aqueduct
created by Thodore Gericault, The Start of the Race of the Riderless Horses created
by Horace Vernet, Salisbury Cathedral from the Bishop's Grounds created by John
Constable, Stormy Coast Scene after a Shipwreck by a French painter, and The Natchez by
Eugne Delacroix. The artists of these paintings have spent a huge amount of time creating
these elegant art pieces. All of the time and effort spent in these pieces was well worth it.
The first piece of art work that caught my attention is called Evening: Landscape with
an Aqueduct created by Thodore Gericault. This piece of art work was created during
the emerging Romantic movement. The painting appears to be very beautiful through
my eyes. The landscape seems to be very peaceful somewhere that I would enjoy
being. Some people are taking a quick swim in the river and others are relaxing by the
water. By the look of the colors used in this painting, it seems that the artist was
trying to portray a sunset. While the sun is setting, darker clouds seem to start
The second piece of art work that I enjoyed viewing is called The Start of the
Race of the Riderless Horses created by Horace Vernet. This art work represents a
piece of Romes carnival. By the look of this image it seems to be that events get very
intense during the carnivals that take place in Rome. The horses appear to be very
strong since the grooms are having a difficult time controlling them. This artwork
impresses me because the strength and power that these horses represent is amazing. It
seems as if it takes about two or three men just to control these aesthetic and muscular
horses.

The third piece of art work that stunned me is called Salisbury Cathedral from the
Bishop's Grounds created by John Constable. This piece of art demonstrates Englands
tallest cathedrals medieval spire. My initial reaction when I first saw this stunning piece
of art was in awe. The cathedral in this art piece looks absolutely divine. In the art piece, the
medieval spire looks very tall and elegant. While examining the medieval spire, I only
imagine how immense it must be in person. It appears to be so sky high that the clouds are
even surrounding the point of this medieval spire. This landscape is highly engaging, the
trees and animals drinking from the mini pond is captivating. These extra components to the
The fourth art piece that amazed me is called Stormy Coast Scene after a Shipwreck by
a French painter. This art peace screams danger and bravery to me. After a shipwreck near these
massive rocks, people are trying to escape this danger zone. The waves appear to be very
powerful while clashing against a mountain of huge rocks. These people that are stuck in the
ocean look scared for their life. The painter drew one person that is stuck in this powerful storm
that is in need of help. This caught my attention because it leaves me wondering why the painter
didnt add another human to save the drowning man in the ocean. The shipwreck seems to have
Last but not least, the fifth art work that fascinated me is called The Natchez by
Eugne Delacroix. This art piece describes the beauty of life. A woman just went
through a very painful process after giving birth to her child. The father is right by her
side mesmerizing the new born. The painter did a fantastic job with this art piece
because he shows what women are capable of doing. It seems to be that the parents of

this new born child went to a quiet and relaxing place to give birth. This is a
To conclude, art is a very engaging technique that us humans have. Through art
we explore our emotions and bring out our imagination to life. Art has helped many
people find their true selves and meanings to what matters in life. By painting on a
canvas, you just never know what you will come out with. Art is beauty and pain
