Editorial: Which European City is the best

Europe is full of culture, but none as so as the state of Italy. Even

though the country of Italy is perfect, from its clear beaches in Sicily, the

wonderful villas within the Tuscany, to the flatlands and wine yards. Though

none of this can compare to the capital city of Rome. There is so much to do

in and around Rome that one can live their whole life in the state and not

experience every part. Thats why Im here to talk about what would can do

inside Rome the country itself.

This country has been the epicenter of Human advancement, after all,

All roads lead to Rome. The rich history of Italy has its beginning in the

great Empire of Rome, the greatest empire to ever live. This Empire lasted

over 700 years and throughout that time the nation of Italy grew into the

first European power. Today you can see the covered in ash city of Pompeii

or the great gladiator coliseum right in the heart of the Italian Capital.

Though the rich history of Italy doesnt stop with the Roman Empire, it

continues on into the 1400s. This time frame was one of great wealth within

the Italian state. It saw the rising city states grow in both wealth and power.

Some of these cities states where the Milan, Florence, Rome (The Papal

States), and Venice. These city states grew rapidly due to high amounts of

trade moving between each city. Though during this time period, patron of

the arts was wildly celebrated between the rich of the city states. The arts
flourished in Italy and they can still be found in either Rome or the cities

around it.

Though even with all the natural history that the nation has

experienced, none could compare to the country inside the country. The

country of the Vatican, located deep in the heart of Rome. If you are a

follower if the religion of Roman Catholicism then this is the place to be. The

Vatican itself is the head of the entire religion and all those who follow it.

Even if you are not R. Catholic you can still explore the museums and

century old churches within. These museums have painting that tell the

story of time itself, as the Bible portrays it at least. Though I must remind

you that the Vatican is very formal, one cannot appear with only shorts and

a T-shirt. Its highly recommended that you bring clothes just to visit the

magnificent country.

Even though the entire nation of Italy is one of wonder, none

could compare to Rome. From the History of the romans to High Tech

modern communities, Rome has it all. Trust me, a visit to Rome would not

be one wasted.
