Title of Lesson: Ready, Set, Go!
I. Concept Statement The children will enhance their gross motor skills by completing an obstacle course based on 5 different sports. II. III. Sub-Domains HSELOF Sub-Domain 1: Gross Motor HSELOF Code: P-PMP 1 HSELOF Goal: Child demonstrates control, strength, and coordination of large muscles.
Objective 1: The children will develop large motor control, strength, and large muscles by completing an obstacle course based on sports activities.
HSELOF Sub-Domain 2: Gross Motor HSELOF Code: P-PMP 2 HSELOF Goal: Child uses perceptual information to guide motions and interactions with objects and other people.
Objective 2: The children will develop perceptual motor skills by completing each obstacle task following directions.
HSELOF Sub-Domain 3: Gross Motor HSELOF Code: P-PMP 2 HSELOF Goal: Child uses perceptual information to guide motions and interactions with objects and other people.
Objective 3: The children will develop hand-eye coordination by utilizing their perceptual motor.
IV. Materials Needed: 2 basketballs 2 footballs 2 soccer balls Golf set Bowling set 1 target for football 2 baskets for soccer
V. Directions / Steps / Process [Parts A, B C]:
A. Motivation I will have a picture with different sports, and something used for the sport and I will have volunteers come up and draw line connecting the sports. I will ask the children if any of them play sports. I will also wear a referee jersey.
B. Steps 1. I will start with the picture of the sports objects and sports balls and have the students connect the right ones. 2. I will ask for 6 volunteers. 3. I will split the 6 children into two teams of 3 each. 4. I will demonstrate the obstacle course. 5. I will have the children complete the obstacle course. 6. I will ask the children what their favorite sport is on the poster board and have them make a tally mark.
C. Conclusion and Transition
Conclusion I will have another sports matching paper but a different one and have the children match the sports again.
Transition I will have a poster board with different sports written on it and I will ask the children what their favorite sport is and have them make a tally mark and then head back to their seat.
