Competency A Professionalism and Understanding:

You continue to demonstrate very satisfactory professionalism. The rapport

you have established with the learners and your MST has served you very
well on this internship. It was also very encouraging that I did not receive any
negative feedback about your conduct from your MST or the school
administration. Do keep this up as you wrap up the remaining weeks of your
internship.

Category B Planning for Learning:

A satisfactory lesson plan was forwarded in time before the lesson. The
content was also satisfactory. However, the learning outcome could be
clearer - the lesson activities could have been used to frame SMART
objectives.

Category C Implementing and Managing Learning:

The learners came in about 5 minutes into the lesson time. The lesson were
quickly engaged with instructions about the new unit. The instructions were
somewhat overwhelming for grade threes. You might have provided clearly
numbered instruction sheets and worksheets to provide sequence directions
for each activity. Interesting set of words for the target vocabulary - TOMATO,
SIGN, FRUITS, TREE, and FISH. Then the learners began doing the activities.
The activity evaluation paper was rather intimidating for this level of learners
- YES/NO and MAYBE - What does "maybe" imply? You might have got more
accurate responses if you used emojis and explained why the learners were
"evaluating" the activity. Nevertheless, the learners were enthusiastic and
worked through the activities efficiently. The story was satisfactory but it was
not entirely clear what contribution it made to the preparation for the new
unit because it only had ONE word (trees) related to the target vocabulary
items. Moreover' you might want to clarify the concept of dog breeds for the
learners to comprehend what the concept "yellow lab mix" means. You did

well providing scaffolding and encouraging the learners to use the target
language as you moved from group to group. You also did very well managing
the transitions as the learners move from station to station. The bell
interrupted the lesson. Could have used a sum up presenting the connection
of the activities to the topic of the new unit.

Category D Monitoring and Assessment of Learning:

Your use of Q & to elicit desired information and track comprehension

continues to be very satisfactory. You also continue to do very well providing
scaffolding to the learners during activities. You also did very well
encouraging student interactions.

Category E Reflection:

Your self-evaluation was very satisfactory. You were spot on about the need to
provide more explicit information for the learners to execute more complex
tasks such as the need for them to move from center to center to complete
different tasks.

Strengths of the Lesson:

The main strengths of this lesson were: Excellent rapport with the students,
student engagement, pacing of activities, and quality of the teaching aids.

Areas for Development:

Please, continue ensuring that you model correct use of English in language
presented to the learners. Young leaners have the tendency to sponge off
teachers language - you goal is to avoid fossilization of errors.

Focus for next lesson:

Continue providing more opportunities for the students to manipulate the

target language. This group of eager young learners has demonstrated a lot
of potential to excel. You might also want to make use of every opportunity to
collect evidence for both your action research project and PDP goals.
