Unit: U2- Five senses No. Ss 32 students
Prior Knowledge (What knowledge are you building on?)
- Students already know some of the body parts (nose, eyes, mouth, ears, hands),
and five senses (taste, touch, see, smell, and hear). And most importantly, they can
link each body part to its sense.
Lesson Objectives: at the end of this lesson, the learners will be able to:
1- To taste and identify the differences between available foods.

Key vocabulary: cold, hot, sweet, sour, salty, juicy.

- Speaking:

2- To say orally how the food taste like?

Key expressions/structure: How does it taste? It tastes ...sweet.

- Writing:

3- To draw and write a sentence of their favourite food and how it tastes.

Key expressions/structure: My favourite food is .... , it tastes . .(ex: my


favourite food is pasta, its salty).

Lesson Activities: (What will students do in the lesson?)


Engagement:
A: Body Parts song.
B: flashcards to review the five senses and body parts.
Core:
A: PowerPoint for explaining the six adjectives for tasting.
B: tasting real food on the table and identify their taste.
C: classify food pictures according to their taste category on the A3 poster.
Plenary:
Write and draw their favourite food and how it tastes on a sticker.
And at the end of the lesson, students will present their stickers on the classroom
wall.
Evaluation / Assessment: (How will you know your students have achieved the goal?)
- My observations during the classifying and stickers activities, I will move around
and look at their work and check at each group.
- Students work: according to the learners group work, I will try to find out these
questions: Did the students conceptualized the kind of food tastes? How successful
were the students in completing the activity?
- From the sticker activity I will check this question: How close did the students come
to achievement of the objectives?
