This article includes the cons of raising the minimum wage. The author argues that

raising the wage would cause people to have trouble finding jobs and result in people losing their

jobs. Many teenagers and young adults would be affected because they typically take those entry

level positions that pay minimum wage. These job cuts could also affect families who still need

to pay their bills and pay for food, a home, and other necessities. I chose this article because it

shows the opposing argument of raising the federal minimum wage.

This article explains how raising the minimum wage would affect the families that live

off the current minimum wage. Many families cannot afford to pay all their bills or buy basic

necessities. Because of that, families have too neglect paying a bill every month. The author

states that if the minimum wage was raised, families would be able to pay their bills and afford

food and clothing. I chose this article because this explains how a raise in the federal minimum

wage would affect the families who live off the low pay.

This article explains most of the benefits of raising the minimum wage. It starts by saying

that the minimum wage sets the wage floor meaning that it sets the minimum amount that

business owners are allowed to pay their workers. the author argues that the current minimum

wage is too low to support anybody and raising it is essential to themselves, their families and

the economy. If the minimum wage was raised then workers would be able to afford the basic

necessities like food, clothes, bills, etc. This puts the money back into our economy and allows it

to thrive. I picked this article to show some of the economic benefits of raising the federal

minimum wage.
