Survey Write-Up

This survey was designed to gain constructive criticism and opinions on my final concept idea.
Q1 Do you think this concept has a strong
enough link to the song?
All the results for this were positive, with every
respondent agreeing that my idea fits with the
lyrics within the song. There was a single
comment that said It will show a literal draining
of his emotions.

Q2 Does the tone of my concept match the tone

of the song?
All respondents said that the tone for my idea
matches the dark and depressive tone of the
song.

Q3 Is the concept of having majority of the video in

reverse a good one?
Similar to the last two, everyone liked the concept of
reverse footage.

Q4 Do you think the shot with the white

background works with the rest of the video?
There was a large mix of results from this question.
There was a 50/50 split between those who agreed
or disagreed in all capacities. However, the most
respondents said that they agreed that the shot
works.
However, there were multiple pieces of feedback in
the comments that could be taken into account.
Some said that the background is out of place, and
could perhaps be replaced with by just having a close-up on the actor instead. This is something I
will definitely look into to see which would be more affective. Other comments did agree that
having something else to cut to makes sense, as
well as saying it effectively shows the passing of
time.

Q5 Are there any shots, you have, that would

look good in reverse and improve the
concept/narrative?
There were several good answers that would be
good to look into. The main ones were
something breaking, tying a tie and reverse
smiling after meeting the girl. Though as
someone mentioned I have to make sure I dont
overdo it.

Q6 Do you have any other general

improvements or ideas that my concept could
benefit from?
Some said that the idea doesnt need much
improvement, or they cant make a judgement
call. However, one made a good suggestion of
making the romance between the two characters
more believable and less generic.
