Annotated Bibliography: Greys Anatomy Racial Diversity

This article provides insight information on the creator of Greys Anatomy and the

reasoning behind blind casting. This article attempts to explain how the blind casting process

occurs for the characters in the show, putting race a side. I found this source on google scholarly

and pulled the article from the CSUN data base. I searched Greys Anatomy Racial Diversity

and found this article using the last name of the author. This article was labeled as peer reviewed,

that is how I determined its credibility. This article will be useful within my research paper,

because it has very descriptive in details and discusses the characters and races within the scenes,

while keeping the discussion of the casting in focus. This article is relevant to my topic of racial

diversity. I plan on including information on how blind casting has allowed a more diverse

approach to picking characters within the show.

This article is very specific to discussing the relationships of Asian American and Black

relationships portrayed on Greys Anatomy. It provides a different perspective not only on the

relationship between the two characters, but also mentions other observations in regards to the

topic race itself. I found this source through google scholar and could access the article through

the CSUN data base and applying the title of the article. This article is considered reputable,

because it has been peer reviewed. This article is useful to my essay to provide support and

knowledge to specific relationships that can further discuss the racial diversity within the show.

It is also useful to acknowledge different racially diverse relationships. I plan on discussing

diverse relationships between characters to and their portrayal within the series.

This source discusses race, gender, representation, its potential to change, these ideas for

change on inclusion are presented with facts such as employment information and other

statistics. I found this argument on google scholar and accessed the pdf version of the document.

This article is considered a scholarly article; therefore, I consider it trustworthy. This document is

useful to my essay due to the statistical information that can apply to further developing my

argument. I will you this source to incorporate the data of racial/ethnic minorities in Hollywood.

This ties in the ideas of color blind casting and racial diversity within Greys Anatomy.

This source consists of a CNN interview on the creator of Greys Anatomy known as

Shonda Rhimes. Rhimes shares her opinions on diversity in Hollywood, discusses the

whiteness or diversity in Hollywood productions, and touches on Greys Anatomys more

diverse potential. I found this source through the CSUN database, I searched Greys Anatomy

diversity and clicked to filter specifically newspaper articles and found this source. I found this

credible, because CNN was behind its production or publication. This source is relevant to my

topic due to the ideas of stereotypes, racism, and acceptance factors that connect with the Greys

Anatomy series. By having the creator of Greys opinion on race in Hollywood I can further

backup my argument within my essay.
