Title of Paper

I watched the school board meeting placed on January 28th of this year. Meeting flows

with the Dr. Linda (President/District C) introduction of agenda. Mark a beginning with a Pledge

of Allegiance. After the invocation by interim pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, The

Adopt agenda read out loud. And these are the Adopt agenda, except delete Item 5.14, note

reference material provided for Item 3.02, note revised reference material provided for Items

5.13 and 7.01, and move Item 7.04 to follow Item 9.01 as 9.01a. After the information read out

loud, CCSD member started vote if they agree with it or not. The student reports started after

that. 4 different students who represent their school came out and present the school news like

what activities going on or what kind of school program in process. And vise-president gave an

advice and comment on each individual speaker. Since this meeting was held on January 28th and

the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade was on January 18th, the Presentation of Martin Luther King Jr.

Parade was held. Presentation of student environmental science report, superintendent report also

presented.

During public comment period the meeting, some of the presentation can be related to

what we are learning in this course. One lady mention about that the Nevada graduation rate is

low and the most of the student are student of colored which can related to the text we using.

According to the textbook, Federal and state mandates also stipulate that students cannot be

denied school attendance or otherwise disadvantaged based on characteristics such as race, sex,

disability, national origin, marriage, or pregnancy.

(P.316) Another lady who living in pavilion community, she has concern about the bus stop that

changed couple years ago, it was use to be located at the front of the park for 15 years which is

safe for children however ever since the bus spot moved to in front of the main entrance, there

are lack of space to walk around for children and she is very worried about childrens safety so

she wanted to removed to whatever it was located. And this this related to manage facilities.

Which we were talk about it very first of the class. Other hands, one lady work at the ESCA

came out and say that she always attend to meeting over a year however according to her words,

she didnt get any respond and she felt kind of suffocation. She was saying about the support

staffs also need to get a raised as like as teachers got raised. And this can be related to the Fourth

Amendment. According to the text, The Fourteenth Amendment contains two important clauses:

the Equal Protection Clause and the Due Process Clause. The Equal Protection Clause provides

that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction, the equal protection

of the laws. It has been interpreted to mean that similarly situated individuals must be

treated the same.

(p.8) Lastly during the School Board Meeting, I can see how is the member of the CCSD

member formed and now I know what position do what role. And this was also talked in the very

first class that Local School Board selects school personnel. All the section closed with

Employee labor relations. References
