1. Purpose

1.1 This document provides guidelines in the stencilling and labeling of different FTTH LCP,
NAP and FDC currently being deployed by PLDT. It also presents a detailed procedure on
the proper way of putting the label onto the different types NAP & LCP boxes and FDC.

1.2 This supersedes all previously issued documents regarding Stenciling Guidelines for LCPs
and NAPs.

2. Labeling Guidelines

a. Town/City/Municipality code for the LCP, NAP or FDC shall be based on 3-letter code
used by Business Zones.
b. Font shall be Arial, font size 100 (equal to 1 inch) and bold.
c. Label shall be vertical and left-aligned.
d. Spacing between rows shall be 0.375 in. (equal to 0.95 cm.)
e. Quick dry epoxy enamel spray paint shall be used for printing label. Black colored paint
shall be used except for dark background where white is required.

3.1.6 Click Line and Paragraph Spacing

3.1.7 Choose Line Spacing Options, Spacing and set the value of After to 0 and At
to 0.86.

3.1.8 Print out the stencil on a short bond paper for acetate tracing.

4. Step-by-step Stenciling Procedures

4.1 Materials Required

a. Quick dry enamel paint spray paint, Black or white color - One (1) can
b. Plastic acetate, size 8.5 x 11
c. Scotch tape or masking tape -
d. Sandpaper (Grit no. 240) - 1 sheet
e. Cutter
f. Soft cloth/flannel - two (2) pcs.

4.2 Prepare the LCP, NAP or FDC to be stenciled.

4.2.1 Prepare a fine grade sand paper no. 240.

4.2.2 Wet the sandpaper and then lightly sanding the surface of the LCP/NAP/FDC.

4.2.3 Touch and feel the surface and cease sanding after three (3) rounds of circular
motion or when surface is already rough.

4.2.4 Wipe and dry surface with a clean, soft cloth/flannel prior to painting.

4.3 Attach a sheet of plastic acetate on top of the stencil. Use scotch or masking tape to secure
it together. Cut out the letters on the plastic acetate using a sharp cutter.

4.4 Placement of labels on the LCP, NAP or FDC shall be based on the measurements
indicated in Section 5 (Finished Stencil on LCP/NAP/FDC).

4.5 Remove the stencil from the label pattern and use masking tape to attach it on the surface
of LCP/NAP or FDC.

4.6 Use black quick dry epoxy enamel spray paint (e.g. Pylox) for light-colored boxes and white
dry epoxy enamel spray paint for dark-colored boxes.

4.7 Gently shake the spray paint can ten (10) times prior to painting. Spray paint about a foot
away from the box. Spray twice in a sweeping motion from left to right, top to bottom, for a
clear marking.

4.8 Remove the stencil pattern and put the LCP, NAP or FDC in a clear area. Allow paint to dry
for 10 minutes.
