Adi 24 Genaro in Cremona 1729

Io Antonio Stradivari questa vollo che sia

la mia ultima volonta in tanto che la
mente sana e di corpo e di mente.
Subito che son morto vollo che portato in
S(anc)to Domi(ni)co e che sia subito detto cinqua(n)ta
Messe sopra il corpo.
E comando che Fran(ces)co mio filiolo lo domado
per mio erdi e vollo che stia insieme con
Cha(tte)rina mia filiola e mia molle e Giuseppe
e Paolo mio filiolo sin alla morte in
questa casa e Fran(ces)co vollo che sia patro
della Bottega e la camara che dietro e la
camara dove dormo alla qua si trova.
Catterina mia filiola vollo che resta patrona d
ellortagla ci delle 4 milla lire con il
frutto per del frutto habia da dare
la mitta de fruti ha Don Rosa Maria mia
filiola che in Mantova monicha nel con(ven)to
della Santi(ssi)ma Nonciata de S(anc)to Giorgio

Giuseppe resta patro delle sei mila

Lire che ho sopra la casa del Sig. Fran(ces)co
Ponc(e)tti della vicenza de S(anc)ta Agata
e ha Paolo mio filiolo vollo che sia datto
sei mila lire e pi sei far il merchate
vollo che ha mia molle sia datto la sua
dotta e vestito che si trova e ancora l oro
e mile lire di pi in contato da stari uniti
con sua madre sin alla morte.
Ha Don Alessandro mio filiolo li sia fatto
un capitale de 4 mila lire da godere
tanto che scampa.

Fran(ces)co habia da mantire Chatt(er)ina

e mia molle e che habia da godere
la casa tanto che vivi e far la parte
tanto che campa uno e lartro ci ha
Giuseppe e Paolo che stia uniti sempre.

E ha Obon(om)o quanto volesse partire

sia datto tre mila lire de debito che
ho spese per lui parte ha mandato
ha Napoli e venire e altre spese
fatte in Cremona per lui fatte.
E se ne vanza di pi se li parta
con tutti.
E li cento filippi che ho datto al
Sig. Antonio Barocino vollo che sia di
Chatarina tanto il capitale come il frutto.

I Antonio Stradivari wish this to be

My last will while I am of
sound mind and body and mind.
Immediately after my death, I wish to be brought to
San Domenico and immediately fifty masses
shall be said over the body
and I command that my son Francesco be
my heir and I wish that he remain together with
my daughter Catterina and my wife and Giuseppe
and Paolo my son until death in
this house, and I wish Francesco to be the master
of the Workshop and the room behind it and the
room where I sleep in which I am now
I wish my daughter Catterina to be the owner
of the garden, that is, of the 4 thousand lire
with the interest, but half of the interest
she must give to my daughter Don Rosa
Maria who is a nun in Mantua
in the Convent of the Holiest Annunciation of S. Giorgio

Giuseppe is the owner of the six thousand

lire which I have upon the house of Signor Francesco
Ponzetti in the parish of SantAgata
and I wish that to my son Paolo be given six thousand
lire and six more if he will become a merchant
I wish that my wife be given her
dowry and the clothing that she has and also the gold
and one thousand lire more in cash to remain together
with the mother until death
to my son don Alessandro shall be rendered
a capital of 4 thousand lire to enjoy
as long as he lives.

Francesco must maintain Chatterina

and my wife and they shall have the enjoyment
of the house as long as they live and share
until either one of them dies that is
Giuseppe and Paolo shall remain together always

and the Obonomo, if he might wish to have his portion

shall be given three thousand lire of debt that
I spent for him in part sent
to Naples and for his return and other expenses
paid for him in Cremona
and if there is more it shall be divided
amongst all of them
and the one hundred filippi that I gave to
Signor Antonio Barocino I wish it to belong to
Caterina the principal as well as the interest.
