It is my pleasure to write this letter recommending Andrea Steaban for an

administrative position within any local school district.

I have been fortunate to work with Andrea (Andi) in various capacities over
the past several years. I have worked with Andi when she was a teacher at
one of middle schools, I also worked with her in our district curriculum
department and most recently with her role as the Dean of the Academic
Center.

Working with Andi as a teacher was a joy. She is a constant learner and
pioneer. As a classroom teacher, one project she worked on was her pilot of
standards based grading in her middle school math classroom. She took the
challenge on with all of her might. From explicit rubrics to parents meetings
for clarity she did it all. Andi is naturally a teacher of teachers and natural
leader among peers and her role in the Curriculum, Instruction and
Assessment department as an instructional coach was a natural fit. She often
provides professional development sessions for teachers in a variety of
topics, most recently standards-based grading.

In her most recent and current role as the Dean of the Academic Center, Andi
has worked collaboratively with many teachers to ensure student success for
all. Her goal in this work is to not only push our students to further successes
but to challenge and question teachers actions and moves when working
with and building relationships with students. To help teachers she has
implemented many new routines and strategies for teachers to utilize when
working with students. For those that it may not come so naturally she is
happy to model, sit alongside a teacher, or provide critical feedback all in the
lens of growth.
