1 Overview
This BOT includes the network planning, site acquisition, city power access, site building.
The whole network cover the GSM and UMTS.ZTE Company is responsible for the
network construction of Region of Esfahan, Shiraz, Karaj, Kermanshah and Ahvaz in
phase 1.
Microwave applies the NEC equipment to Tamin project. The capacity in the topology
can reach 800Mbps in phase 1.The traffic in cell sites, Hub sites and Metro sites are
aggregated to the PTN equipment.
1.2 Definition
This document is LLD whose full name is Low Level Design (hereinafter referred to as
LLD). The LLD document aims at describing the detailed microwave installation,
commissioning, acceptance, microwave equipment IP planning principle and microwave
site types and rack use for implementation.

As for the specific LOS method, the methods will be introduced for the path survey to the
document in the two cases, which are shown in next paragraph.
Short distance survey: Observation with naked eye or tools: we can observe the opposite
site with naked eye within one kilometer, sometimes we can use telescope to check the
LOS. If the opposite site can be seen without obstruction, we can consider the link LOS
is good; otherwise, the link LOS is not good, we need to change the route for the purpose
of good LOS.
Longer distance: As for longer distance link, it is not easy to confirm the LOS with naked
eye. We can check the possible obstruction and observe the LOS from the possible
obstruction point to the both sites. We can find the possible obstruction point by the
Pathloss or GoogleEarth software. The section profile is shown below.
In Pathloss software, we can enter the Antenna Height and move the red arrow cursor
to the possible obstruction position to record the coordinate. Then we can go to the
possible recorded obstruction site to check the LOS to both opposite sites, which is
shown in Figure 3-1.
In the similar way, we can find the possible position in the GoogleEarth software, move
the cursor to the possible obstruction position and record the coordinate. Then go to the
possible recorded obstruction site to observe the opposite sites. The possible obstruction
position in GoogleEarth is shown in Figure 3-2.

Figure 3-2 Possible obstruction position in the GoogleEarth .
When it comes to the survey tools, usually, we can use the tools such as balloon,
flambeau, telescope, red flag, and so on, to judge the LOS of link..
After finishing the microwave whole network survey, we can get exact finalize microwave
network planning scenario, which include microwave network topology, microwave
network report, microwave link budget report and microwave network link connection for
traffic and element management system..

3.4 Microwave Commissioning
When entering the PNMTj software we can configure parameters of the link end in both
sides. Synchronously, we can see and configure the parameters and the performance in
the interface of the PNMTj. The interface is shown in Figure 3-6.

In this project, as for the IP address, every IDU needs one IP address. That is to say
every metro end needs four IP address. Each Hub and Cell end needs one IP address.
For example, The Karaj topology has 3 rings. Every metro link needs 4 IP address. It
needs 144 IP addresses. The Topology is shown in Figure 5-2.

5.3 NCT Software Introduction
The Network Configuration Toolj (NetCfgToolj) is an optional application tool for the
Pasolink Network Management System, which provides an easy to use graphical
interface in building NEC PASOLINK networks. It is a powerful tool used to generate
configuration files for the CTRL/Pasolink Management Cards (PMC) and network
connection data files for the Pasolink Network Management System (PNMS).
The NetCfgToolj window is composed of the following main areas, which is shown in
Figure 5-5.
Title Bar: The title bar is used to indicate the title of the window.
Common Menu Bar: The common menu bar of the window presents the System and
Help options, and indicates which commands can be executed from among the various
options. The Help function can also display a PDF version of this operation manual.
One Touch Expandable Button / Divider Initially the PNMT screen is split evenly to
display the data from the two NEs within a hop by using a divider. Click this button to
move the divider to the edge of the window. The NCT detail operation is referred to the
document of Network Configuration Toolj Operation Manual.
