Timing

Timing is needed in producing animation due to the ability to establish personality of characters
and the emotions they express. In our storyboard, we need timing to create the shock and happy
facial expression of the character. To produce smoother and crisper scene, we has to adjust the
timing of a scene.

Secondary action

In our animation, we want to use secondary actions as it able to support the primary movements.
When the woman walking to market, she swinging her arms as she walk. The secondary action is
a few strong gestures of the arms working with the walk. This action adds to and enriches the
main action which is the walking.

Follow through and overlapping action

Follow through is the idea that separate parts of the body will continue moving after the
character has come to a stop. Overlapping occur when different parts of the body move at
different times. Since in real life, everything moves at different speeds in time, we want to use
this principle in order for capturing realistic situation and fluid movement in the scene.

Straight ahead action and pose-to-pose action

Straight ahead is better for realistic actions while pose to pose is more effective for dramatic or
emotional scenes where its more about conveying an idea than a sense of realness. We want to
use process of capturing each step of the actor walking and then visually translated all the actions
to individual images so that viewer knows what the actor wants to do.

Staging

The purpose of staging is to make the purpose of the animation unmistakably clear to the viewer
Do not confuse the audience with too many actions at once. We want to use this principle
because to avoid confuse and misunderstanding in viewer when use many actions.

Appeal

An appealing is charisma that appears in character. Appeal allows creators to find areas on the
character to push and exaggerate to create a more unique character design that will stick out in
the audience's memory. We want to use this principle to provide story continuity in every scene
and make sure there is no complicated or confusing character in animation.
Solid drawing

The solid drawing would be the most useful element in the animation that involve 3D animation.
But the characters that will be create in this animation is only 2D character. So solid drawing will
not be used in this animation.

Slow In and Out

For the slow in and out, there is no suitable character in the animation that will create the
movement involving acceleration.

Arcs

Arcs also will be used in the process making of the animation due to the some scene that need for
the character use the element. For example the action in planting the vegetable and water the
plant. The arch will make the movement smoother and more realistic.

Squash and Stretch

The element of squash and stretch can be apply on the biceps and triceps of the ladys arm when
she want to take the basket in scene 2 and scene 3.

Anticipation

For anticipation, the anticipation will be used for the movement when the lady in the garden
show there are a lot of movement on knees and bend required. When the lady bend her body to
sit on the garden to plant the vegetables, she needs to bend the knees first such as in scene 6.

Exaggeration

This type of element suitable being used to show the expression of the lady when she sad looking
at the wilting vegetable and when she so excited to see her vegetables grow healthily. We can
make the expression when she look at the vegetable she plant by her own more realistic which
make her retina point out of the eyes in scene 8.
