Newspaper Activity

Let There Be Light!

The Enlightenment or Age of Reason, was a way of looking at the world using
reason and logic to understand human nature. Using information contained in
Chapter 16, Lesson 1 of your textbook you will create a newspaper profile
about one of the four Enlightenment thinkers you just read about: John
Locke, Voltaire, Baron de Montesquieu, or Jean Jacques Rosseau. Each
groups profile should include:

-Newspapers name
-Date of article (17th century)
-Headline- e.g. Unlocking the Mind of John Locke
-Brief description of your philosophers main beliefs
-A hand-drawn picture of your philosopher
-Optional- a sneak peek at tomorrows headline

Each group will share their newspaper story with the class when complete.
