PLUGS & RECEPTACLES Rig platforms require access to power throughout their operations. Appleton
provides safe and reliable connections with an extensive product line of plugs and
receptacles. They are designed to keep the power secure in extreme conditions,
including those filled with moisture, dust, dirt and vibrations. The POWERTITE
SERIES of plugs and receptacles deliver power in hazardous conditions with rugged
construction that provides watertight, explosionproof or dust-ignitionproof
connections. The EBR SERIES of receptacles offer a circuit breaker and externally
mounted disconnection switch. The EBR mechanically locks the plug in the
receptacle when the circuit breaker is in the On position. The JBR SERIES features
an internal switch that enables safe and quick disconnection without the need for a
separate disconnect switch.

FITTINGS Difficult bends, tight spaces, vibration and movement that challenge rigid conduit
connections can be negotiated with Appletons FLEXIBLE COUPLINGS. Appletons UNIONS are
available in expansion and non-expansion versions. Our expansion versions feature a
one-piece design that eliminates the need for disassembly during installation. Appleton
SEALS maintain the integrity of hazardous location electrical connections with a wide

 ENCLOSURES Appleton offers standard and custom enclosures for any application on your rig.
Each one is designed with the superior security and durability that rig applications
demand. The AJBEW junction box can be used as a pull box or place for terminations.
The AJBEW is made from cast copper-free aluminum and can be mounted vertically or
horizontally with a wide range of drilled and tapped outlet options.

CONTROL PANELS Safely control power with customizable control panels designed specifically for hazardous
and extreme locations. Appleton control panels stand up to years of corrosion. Their
compact housings contain sparks and feature durable switching hardware. The ACSEW CAST
CONTROL PANEL combines controls, indicators and meters into one explosionproof control
center. This panel is flexible enough to be used in an array of applications with a variety
of push button, selector switch and pilot device combinations, including different sizes of
square and round meter windows. The ACSEW is also available with a NEMA 4X rating in
grey epoxy powder coat.

CONTROL STATIONS Rugged Appleton control stations allow workers to manage operations with dozens of
combinations of easy-to-read indicators, buttons and selector switches. The factory sealed EFDB/
EFD/EDS SERIES of control stations are ready for heavy-duty applications with a 10 ampere/600
volt contact rating and dozens of combinations of buttons, pilot lights and selector switches.
Appletons N2 SERIES offers corrosion-resistant, flexible control stations for Class I Division
2 locations. These non-metallic housings feature a rugged, high-strength design that offers
excellent resistance to ultraviolet light and water.

MOTOR STARTERS Appleton motor starters are perfect for rig applications with compact, lightweight
housings and robust power handling features and capacities. The CSE SERIES of
manual motor starters for explosionproof and dust-ignitionproof applications
delivers secure performance in the starting of polyphase AC or DC motors. The
compact, cast-aluminum enclosure features two-coat epoxy powder coat and flexible
mounting options. Operating buttons are positive-operating and can be locked in
the Stop position.

DRIVE PROTECTION Ensure the performance of your SCR house, drives and other equipment across
land rigs with SolaHD line reactors. The compact SLR SERIES of DIN Rail mounted
line reactors can be installed quickly and provides years of protection from the
sags and surges caused by large load switching. It provides three-phase electronic
system protection from harmonics and input line distortions. The DRIVE ISOLATION
TRANSFORMERS are designed to handle the mechanical stress, voltage demands and
harmonics associated with SCR applications.

SURGE PROTECTION The STV SERIES offers surge protection to equipment with a flexible, modular design
that is rugged enough for the harshest rig environments. The STV 200/400K
provides the highest levels of protection and features patented technology that allows
it to handle the high-impulse, potentially damaging transients commonly found in
distribution panels. The STV 100K is a hardwired surge protective device designed
for installation at branch panels and point-of-use applications. The STFV PLUS SERIES
combines Active Tracking filtration for low-energy noise and surge protection from
the high-energy transients caused by turning on heavy machinery, motors and other
equipment.

POWER SUPPLIES The SDN SERIES delivers industry-leading performance that features power factor correction to
meet hazardous location approvals. Its wide operating temperature range and high tolerance
to shock and vibration make the SDN Series suitable for demanding applications on land-
based rigs. The SolaHD SCP-X SERIES was designed to be a stand-alone, self-protected unit. It
eliminates the expense and bulk of non-ventilated enclosures with a rugged IP67 compliant

wide operational temperature ranges and unique installation options. The SDU DC UPS is a
powerful, microprocessor-controlled UPS that provides higher conversion efficiencies by
reducing the number of times power is converted from AC to DC and back. SolaHDs S4K
SERIES offers true on-line (double conversion) protection from a wide range of potential power
problems, such as undesirable harmonics and intolerable frequency variations.

HEAT TRACE Nelson provides SELF-REGULATING HEATING CABLES for both freeze protection and process
maintenance applications. Every cable is tested and certified to ensure the highest quality
even in the harshest of environments. Nelson heating cables can be field-cut to length
and feature multiple power output and voltage ratings. Nelsons CM-3 MULTI-POINT CONTROL/
MONITORING SYSTEM is one of the most advanced control and monitoring systems available. In
addition to control and monitoring, it provides operations personnel with information, such
as temperature alarms, circuit faults, and sensor and communications failures. The CM-3 is
compatible with any Modbus compatible devices.

MOTOR STARTERS ATX MOTOR STARTERS provide secure operation of motorized equipment in wet,
hazardous and dust-filled locations. We offer starters with the highest interrupt
rated enclosures in the industry. The ATX series of Ex d flameproof motor
starters and contactors is compact, but rugged for long-lasting use in extreme
environments. These motor starters are available in three electrical configurations:
DOL, drive, Star-delta, reversing and non-reversing with breaking capacity from
.37 to 75 KW up to 690 volts.

LIGHTING Lighting catwalks, stairs and operations on offshore rigs requires lightweight, compact
and durable fixtures. MERCMASTER III features modular construction that allows it to fit
a vast range of applications and is suitable for Class I Division 2, Class I Zone 2 and
other extreme environments. The Mercmaster IIIs superior design offers industry-leading
thermal performance. It is also available in a low-profile configuration for low-ceiling,
weight-sensitive applications. The AREAMASTER 250/400 floodlight is compact, but
powerful. Its copper-free aluminum housing features a polyester-finish that stands tall
against severe weather, caustic and Class I Division 2 locations. Appletons RIGMASTER
metallic fluorescent fixture is suited for Class I Division 2 locations where a high degree
of corrosion and shock resistance is required.

CABLE GLANDS Appleton provides offshore rigs with class-leading cable glands that secure
connections against extreme environments but are easy to install. The range features
non-hazardous, explosionproof and flameproof cable connectors. The PXB2KX series
offers a flameproof compound seal and an internal sealing ring as an extra barrier
against dust and moisture. The PXSS2K series of cable glands delivers flameproof
safety in operating temperatures that range from -60 C to +100 C. The C2KX series
offers deluge-proof connectors and IEE45 armor jacketed cables and the PX2KX
series features environmental seals on the cable outer jacket and explosionproof
compound barrier seals around the cable inner cores.

TERMINAL BOXES Appleton FIBERGLASS REINFORCED POLYESTER TERMINAL BOXES come in five sizes and can be
coupled together for a wide variety of applications. The static-resistant, black fiberglass
reinforced polyester enclosure is built to survive in wet and corrosive atmospheres.
These terminal boxes are also available in 316 stainless steel and are ATEX approved
for use in Zone 1- 2 and 21 22 locations.

NON-METALLIC CONTROLS Appletons durable control stations keep motors and personnel safe. Appleton offers non-
metallic controls that are lighter weight than their metallic counterparts but just as tough.
The UNICODE 2 series of control stations is NEC-, CEC- and ATEX-compliant allowing
for use in virtually every industrial application worldwide. These factory sealed control
stations are rated for Zone 1- 2 and Class I Division 2 locations. The Unicode 2 is available
in fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) and 316L stainless steel.
