Test Procedures

Supplies and Equipment:

Bucket
Strainer part (With soft green surrounding)
Water Filter
pH test meter
Water (unfiltered)
Sediments, rocks, mud, etc.
Thermometer
Clock/watch

Testing:
Purification of water - Use the pH test meter to test the water before it
goes into the water filter and after.
Strainer - measure how much weight it can withstand and the size of
objects it can successfully catch.
Water tank - We will test the amount of heat it can withstand and the
amount of cold. We will also see how it affects the water inside.
Water filter - How many gallons of water until it needs to be replaced.
And how the amount of dirt in the water can affect the filter.

Test Criteria:
To test the water filter we will insert multiple amounts of different
contaminated water. We will see if the filter will still work when the
water is very dirty or when the water is average and compare the
difference. We will use that to see what type at water it can filter and
the amount. We will use Qualitative.
When we test the strainer we will gather multiple different objects that
can be found in a stream or pand. The materials we will consider
using are different size rocks and grass. We will also see the max
amount of weight it can carry by applying pressure to the surface. We
will use Quantitative.
For testing the water tank we will measure its effects in different types
of temperatures. To do that we will leave the tank out in the sun for
multiple hours. One with water and one without water. We will then
see the effects it had to the tank and the water inside. We will do the
same for cold except we will leave it in the freezer and fridge and
gather its effects. We will use Quantitative.
