The background texture was created by lay-

ing a piece of 60 grit, course sandpaper on
the cased leather and rubbing over it with a
little pressure. A #8039-02 modeling spoon
was used to rub the texture of the sandpaper
into the leather. This takes about the same
amount of pressure as applied when rubbing a
Craftaid template onto leather.

A #8026-00, 1/4" angle, swivel knife blade, or similar, is helpful when cutting this design.
