Inquiring and Analyzing

Identify the problem/issue/topic will you inquire?
The topic we will be inquiring about is Advertorials.
Design Need
Justify the need for a solution to this problem? Explain your
point of view:-

We are making a magazine on brain games to improve

your brain capacity and to improve your skills in subjects
like Math, English, Science, etc. These games and puzzles
will increase your brain capacity and be fun to do while
you are bored and need something to do. Nowadays,
everyone is so engrossed in technology that they dont
look around and deter their attention from their
electronics.

Specify your client/target audience:-

Our targeted audience is the school community, but it is

also available for the general audience to use.

Research Plan (Mind map)

State a research plan to develop a solution to the problem.

Inquiry Questions

Factual Questions:
1. What is an advertorial and how can it be used?
Ans. - Advertorial is a type of communication to the public like
newspaper, magazines, etc, which gives us info about any new product
or system through a journalism format. It can be used for spreading
new ideas and making peoples lives easier. It shows the people whats
going around the world.

2. What type of advertisements are most influential over buying

behavior?
Ans. - Advertorials are used by marketers to educate
prospective consumers about the features of a product. It can be used
to target a specific set of people by choosing the right medium to
publish the advertorial.
For example, an advertorial in a business newspaper would
involve educating a set of people who are more interested about
economy, markets or financial products. It is an effective medium for a
company to connect with its consumers through a story, unlike a
traditional print ad in a magazine, newspaper or on a website as a
banner ad.
Conceptual Questions:
1. Why is advertorial so important?
Ans. - Advertising is a form of communication intended to
convince an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to purchase or
take some action upon products, information, or services etc. The
major findings of the study demonstrate an overall normal association
between the variables but in-depth analysis found that emotional
response of consumer purchase behavior is the variable that results
into strong association with the consumer buying behavior. It is true
that people purchase those brands with which they are emotionally
attached.
2. What is the primary purpose of an advertorial?
Ans. - A key purpose of advertorials is to drive traffic to your
website. Their purpose isnt to increase search visibility, but if your
advertorial is engaging and generally well done, it can prove to be a
huge boon for your site traffic-wise, which has the potential for further
conversions/sales.
A big positive of advertorials is that they are much more
extensive and informational than other forms of commonly used
advertisements, such as banner ads. The editorial piece can provide a
plentiful amount of information about what youre offering, giving the
reader a greater idea of what you can provide for them.
It is well known how beneficial it can be for your business if you
have a community/strong social following, and advertorials can help
you build these. If you have done proper research and have specified
a target audience who will be interested in what you offer, you can
increase your overall following with ease.

3. Do advertorials out perform most ads?

Ans. - Advertorials do outperform most ads! Have a look at the
space and size considered, and imagine what the space allows you to
communicate. Try and visualize how your ad will stand out from the
rest or if it will at all. Fortunately, you do have another option!
An advertorial is a marketing piece designed to look and read like
an informative article in fact, it should be an informative article.
Topped by a headline thats provocative or compelling to its intended
audience, this article engages readers more than an ordinary ad
nested among other ordinary ads. And because its no longer bound by
the conventions of ad layout, you can suddenly include more
information; even a relatively small space consuming ad can
accommodate a brief article.

Debatable Question:
1. Do advertorials affect customer service/ perceptions?
Ans - Yes, I think that advertorials do affect a customers
perception on a product. Advertorials are designed to create
significant memories of a product. These memories are created
because an ad succeeds at making us feel somethingwhether it's
good or badand that emotional response can have a profound effect
on how we think and the choices we make. There are all kinds of ads,
but in general they all aim to keep you from thinking and, instead, make
your buying choices based on an emotional response.
Sometimes though, the ads of a product doesnt matter. If people
already have a predisposed opinion of the product or brand or about
advertising being deceiving, etc, they might not be deterred by them.

Design Brief
We are going to make an educational and fun magazine. Our magazine,
Mind Blown, is a medium for people to train their brain to think
practically and critically, yet not realizing it as it is disguised as a game.
Mind Blown consists of many brain games, brain teasers, quizzes, IQ
tests, puzzle and latest news and events (Spelling Bees, MUNs, etc).

Understanding of Inquiring and Analyzing

Justify:

I think that our group deserves an 8. I wasnt present at school when the
submission of the Analysis report was due. My teammates, working
together, started doing their parts of the document on their own and
when I returned, I was able to finish all my parts. I think our Analysis
Report turned out wonderful, despite the tiny hiccup being, my absence!
