Environmental Benefits of Wind Energy

In 2015, wind energy saved 886 million gallons of water a precious resource in Michigan.

Thats the same as saving 6.7 billion bottles of water over the course of a single year.

In 2015, Michigans wind farms also reduced CO2 emissions by over 1.4 million metric tons equal
to taking 298,000 cars off the road.

Immediate and Long-term Benefits

Abundant resource that has become highly predictable

Reduces dependence on imported energy

Requires no mining or transportation of fuel

Does not pollute the air or water

Provides long-term hedge against volatile natural gas prices

Provides economic development in rural communities
