 General Information
The mobile telephone portal offers you the
opportunity to carry on your telephone
calls using your mobile phone via a vehicle
microphone a n d vehicle loud speaker
system as well as to operate the most
important mobile telephone functions via
the infotainment system in the vehicle.
The mobile phone portal is operated via
the steering wheel remote control system, a
voice control system a n d a multi-function
button on the radio. The menu driven
operations a n d status are shown via the
info display.
The fact that the most important content
on the telephone display is shown on the
info display enables you to operate the
whole portal comfortably.
The mobile phone should be operated via
an exterior aerial by clicking it into a
telephone-specific adapter.

Operating the mobile telephone
Mobile telephones affect your environ-
ment. This is the reason why safety rules
and regulations were drawn up. Y o u
should find out about the relevant
regulations before you use the telephone
function.
Use of the freespeech facility when
driving can be dangerous because it
reduces your concentration when you
are on the telephone. Park your vehicle
before you use the freespeech facility.
Always comply with the regulations of
the country in which you find yourself.
Do not forget to comply with the
special regulations in force in an area,
a n d always switch off the mobile
telephone if use of mobile telephones is
prohibited or if interference is being
caused by the mobile telephone or if
dangerous situations arise.
Mobile telephones operated in the
interior of a vehicle without an exterior
aerial cause disrupt the functioning of
the vehicle's electronics system. Only
operate mobile telephones using an
aerial attached to the exterior of the
vehicle.

Operating the voice control system
Do not use the voice control system in
emergencies because your voice can
change so much in stressful situations that
you can no longer be sufficiently

Pop-up menus
In certain cases, the display shows

Connecting

A connection c a n be created between a
mobile telephone a n d the infotainment

Bluetooth™ connection
The Bluetooth™ function for the mobile
telephone must be activated. For
information, see the operating instructions
for the mobile telephone. The mobile
telephone portal supports Bluetooth™
Handsfree Profile, V. 1.0, a n d is specified in
accordance with Bluetooth™ Special
Interest Group (SIG).
Bluetooth™ is a radio standard for wireless
connections between, e.g., a telephone
a n d other devices. Information can be
transmitted, such as that pertaining to
telephone directories, call lists, the names
of network operators a n d field strength.
Creating a connection

 Telephone operations
Introduction
As soon as a connection is created
between your mobile telephone a n d the
infotainment system via the telephone-
specific adapter or via Bluetooth™ , you
can also operate many of your mobile
telephone's functions via the infotainment
system.
For example, via the infortainment system
you c a n create a connection with the
telephone numbers saved in your mobile
telephone or change the telephone
numbers.
As a rule, you c a n also continue operating
the system using the mobile telephone, e.g.
by accepting a call or setting the sound
level.
After a connection has been created
between the mobile telephone a n d the
infotainment system, d a t a is transferred
from the mobile telephone to the
infotainment system. This can take some
time, depending on the brand of
telephone. During this period of time, the
mobile telephone c a n only be operated to
a limited extent via the infotainment
system.

Voice control system
The voice control system enables you to
operate some of the mobile telephone's
functions by inputting your voice. It
recognises commands a n d sequences of
numbers independently of the person
speaking. The commands a n d sequences
of numbers can be spoken without a break
between the individual words.
You can also save telephone numbers
using a name randomly chosen by you
(voice tag). The telephone connection can
be created using this name.
The voice control system contains a high-
performance noise reduction component
to suppress noises in the surrounding a r e a ,
so that the voice control system c a n also be
used during a journey.
If the voice control system fails to operate
properly or fails to recognise your voice, it
provides you with acoustic messages a n d
asks you to input the command you want
again. The voice control system also
provides an answer to important
