Ian is well known in motoring circles for using remote
control cars as his paintbrushes, but for the first time
ever he’s used real racing cars to create a unique 10m
x 5m painting that illustrates the huge variety of
motorsport disciplines that Comma supports.

SPOT THE
DIFFERENCE
With the reduced volume of accident/damaged cars
coming in for repairs owners of bodyshops are looking
at different ways to get more work.
Enter GLASURIT RATIO ‘SPOT REPAIR’ SYSTEM -
This newly developed, highly efficient working method
from Glasurit enables Bodyshop staff to perform quick
repairs of light damage and small dents, e.g. key
scratches or minor car park damage. Such damage is
particularly annoying if it is a new or high-value
vehicle. With the ‘Spot Repair’ system Glasurit has
perfected the repair of minor damage and has created
a highly efficient solution when compared with
existing systems and techniques. The system is very
reliable and gives excellent results.
A one-day spot repair-training course was held on
Thursday 13th May at P R Reillys refinish training
centre in Kilbarrack Industrial Estate Dublin 5. The
course was run by Chris Marshall from Glasurit
Automotive refinish and attended by painters from
bodyshops across the country.
NEW CAR SALES
Official figures released by SIMI show that 70,103 new
cars have been sold so far this year.
At the start of the year, SIMI predicted that, with the
assistance of the scrappage scheme, 70,000 new cars
would be sold for the entire year.
Commenting on the milestone, SIMI’s Press Officer,
Suzanne Sheridan said: “With such an abysmal year
last year, we knew that even an increase of around 20
per cent on last year, or 70,000 new car sales, would
help the industry get back on its feet.”
