Self- Evaluation

The service project helped me become closer to God and Jesus. During

the prayer service, I was most touched by the scene of Jesus dying on the

cross. That scene struck me, realizing that he was a human being and

someone elses son. The service I performed helped made me grow

closer to my faith. I met a lot of new people in the Youth Ministry that are

very faithful and kind-hearted. I felt more spiritually connected to God

when I was there, watching the stations and realizing the ultimate

This service brought me closer to God and Jesus. I

helped follow in the footsteps Jesus laid out in front

of me. I answered my call to serve the people this

incredible and touching prayer service. By

participating in the prayer service, my spirit has

grown and matured and I feel more connected to my

faith.

For my service hours for the 2016-
2017 school year, I volunteered to
help with the Stations of the Cross
at the Saint Ferdinand parish in
Cranberry. I helped as an usher to
help people to and from their seats.
Who?
I worked at the Saint Ferdinands
Youth Ministry group in Cranberry
to help perform the Stations of the
Cross. The group I was a part of
traveled to different parishes to
perform the Stations of the Cross to
Where?
the people that attend that certain
parish. We went from churches
across the state and out of state into
West Virginia. I worked with the
rest of the Saint Ferdinand Parishs
Youth Ministry which consists up
to almost one hundred kids.
What?
I worked as a security guard. That
means that I helped set up the
props for the performance, helped
set up the equipment such as lights
and sound, I would help people
find their seats and escort them if
they need to go somewhere during
the Stations. I helped with the
Youth Ministry Group at seven
different churches
When?
The service took place from
January 8 and ended on April 14. It
ends on Good Friday at Saint
Ferdinands. The total amount of
service that I provided was forty
hours of service. We had the prayer
service every Sunday throughout
the season of Lent. I met tons of
new people who later became my
friends during the journey that I
went through.
This prayer service took place at
many different churches. In total,
we went to seven different
churches located throughout
Pennsylvania and one in West
Virginia. We travelled to St. Hillary
in Washington; OLMBS in Natrona
Heights; St. Albert the Great in
Baldwin; St. Joseph the Worker in
Weirton WV; and St. James in
Sewickley.
Why
I performed the service at the
different parishes because it I
wanted to help and serve other and
show that I was following the word
of God. I wanted to give people
joy. I felt that I need to contribute
to my parish and serve others
