Jewish tradition teaches that you
should try to say 100 blessings each
day. Try it; it’s not that easy. You
have to be on the lookout for good
things. Baruch haShem, a beautiful
rose. Baruch haShem, I found rea-
sonable sharp clippers. Baruch
haShem, my smart talking fourteen
year old son still loves roses.
Maybe a Hebrew blessing doesn’t
flow from your lips. Try a simple,
“Ah!” Now look around your life and
find as many “ah” moments as you
can. Suddenly you’ll notice that the
trees are a particularly lovely early
spring green. There are magnificent
crows perched on the pine across the
street. A slow walking gentleman
kindly waves you to go first. The
neighbor you hardly know sends you
off with a wave. Pretty soon you are
feeling quite good.
