PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM

ON
DEEP WATER FIELD DEVELOPMENT PLAN, PIPELINE DESIGN,
CONSTRUCTION AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS.

1. INTRODUCTION

This two weeks customized training program on Deep Water Field Development Plan, Pipeline Design,
Construction and Financial Analysis. This course is prepared for the technical and financial professionals
of Petrobangla, Bangladesh.

AIT and AIT Extension

extensive pool of international faculty and expert resource persons, our network of key institutions in the
region, and a comprehensive accumulation of knowledge and understanding of socio-economics,
technological levels and needs of many Asian countries.

Consistent with the mission of Asian Institute of Technology, AIT Extension works with a mandate to
contribute towards the development of the region through continuing professional education, training
and consultancy services. Over the past three decades, we have offered short courses to some 24,000
professionals from more than 70 countries around the world. AIT Extension works with professionals in
national governments, overseas development agencies, multilateral agencies, development institutions,
private sectors, investment banks, consultants and NGOs.

2. PARTICIPANTS

The participants for this course will be selected by the authority of Petrobangla, Bangladesh. There will be
a minimum of twelve (12) participants attending this program. The participants would be drawn from
different technical units, engineering units, financial units of Petrobangla and from the Ministry of Power
and Energy, Govt. of Bangladesh.

The training program will be held during 13 24 March 2017 (2 Weeks excluding travel time).

4. COURSE OUTLINE

Module 1: Pipeline Design and Construction

Pipeline Design
Design Parameters and Procedures, Hydraulics Design, Compression Requirements,
Mechanical/ Geotechnical Design.

Pipeline Construction
Major Pipeline Systems (Right-of-Way, Materials Management, Welding, Welding
Inspection, Hydrostatic Testing, Purging and Line Filling, Cathodic Protection).
Small Pipelines (Ploughing in, Continuous Joining, Mild Steel Pipelines, Coiled Tubing,
Trenchless Pipeline Laying, Use of Composites and Polyethylene).

Pipeline Corrosion Protection

Commonly Used Anti-Corrosion Coating
Coal Tar Enamel Coating
3 Layer PE/ PP Coating
Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating
Pipeline Protection

Module 2: Field Development Planning (FDP) for Deepwater

Overview of offshore field development planning process

Module 3: Financial Analysis

Risk Analysis

Module 4: Field Visit

Relevant Field Visit will be arranged. The venue and the name of the organization will be
informed to the client before the start of the course.

7. COST PROPOSAL

The training fee is USD 2,500 (Two thousand five hundred) per participant
For a group of 10 or more participants, a discount of 10% will be allowed.

Tariff for accommodation at AIT Conference Center is USD 60 per room per night for
double sharing. The room rate includes breakfast and also for wi-fi connection.

Remarks

1. The total training fee does not cover the expenses for international travel, daily subsistence
allowance, visa fees, and airport taxes. Client organizations will bear the above costs.

2. Major medical treatment, health insurance and travel insurance are not covered in the course
fee. Participants must secure their entry visa for Thailand, along with their medical and travel
insurances.

3. The training fee includes the training, course materials, books or periodicals relevant for the class,
study visit to local host organizations in Bangkok, Thailand, transfer from Suvarnabhummi
International Airport Bangkok and AIT, transportation for social and cultural visits.

4. The training will be conducted at the AIT Campus at Pathumthani, Thailand and accommodation
will be arranged at the AIT Conference Center. The participants will stay at the AITCC during their
training period. Participants choosing to stay on their own arrangement, has to make their own
arrangement to attend the training session on time.
