3 Teaching-Learning Process
2.3.1 How does the college plan and organize the teaching, learning
and evaluation schedules?(Academic calendar, teaching plan,
evaluation blue print, etc.)
i) Academic calendar:
The student handbook includes JNTU Kakinada academic calendar which
is available on the university portal. A separate department level
academic calendar which includes different activities to be organized is
drafted keeping in view the University academic calendar.
ii) Handouts: Handouts on each subject are prepared with the following
contents.
Course objectives and outcomes.
Unit wise lecture schedule.
Text books, Reference books and important URLs for the subject material.
Assignments and important questions in each unit, Content beyond
syllabus.
The evaluation procedures for internal tests - theory and practical.
2.3.9 How are library resources used to augment the teaching- learning
process?
The library is the heart and soul of any educational institution. QISIT library
escalates the teaching- learning process by catering different services. It is
opened beyond working hours.

The college has a central library with carpet of 1060 sq. It is fully computerized
using OPAC system The resources available Titles: 6975 Total No. of Volumes:
40655 e- Journals: 175 Print Journals: 155 Digital Library: Yes 22 computers are
available with multi- media & internet facility NPTEL and 600+other video E-
courses are available
2.3.10 Does the institution face any challenges in completing the
curriculum within the planned time frame and calendar? If yes,
elaborate on the challenges encountered and the institutional
approaches to overcome these.
Admission process for lateral entry students completes after the
commencement of regular class work, to fill the gap bridge courses are
conducted. Normally the admission process is very late and so does the
instruction time. Faculty conducts extra classes and encourages students to
complete the wok on daily basis. Agitations due to bifurcation disturbed two
academic years and this interruption is compensated by arranging extra classes.
Unforeseen interruption of the class work is compensated by arranging extra
classes. The syllabus coverage is monitored by IQAC and remedial measures are
suggested to the teachers, if any lacuna if found. For all the iv year students
classes in programming languages, Group Discussions and Mock interviews were
conducted to excel in placements.
2.3.11 How does the institute monitor and evaluate the quality of
teaching learning?
Teachers performance in class room is evaluated from the students feed back
twice in a semester by considering 15 parameters on a 5 point scale. The
feedback is analyzed and evaluated on the score of 100 and the every faculty is
given a copy of the same for self evaluation. Depending upon the feedback
faculty is counseled by the corresponding head of the department and also by
the Principal if necessary. The Class work review committees (CWRC) takes care
of the syllabus coverage and quality of teaching. Annual reviews on detailed
self-appraisal forms helps in evaluation of teaching performance, research and
other performance related issues. The quality of course material, assignments
and question papers prepared by the faculty are assessed internally and suitable
suggested accordingly.
