Forward and Aft Cargo Door Operation
One Electric Motor Pump (EMP) in the green hydraulic system supplies
the pressure to operate the cargo door actuation system.
Opening / closing is done by one hydraulic actuator for each door and is
controlled by a toggle switch located at the outside operation panel on
the right hand side of the doors.
The toggle switch triggers the Hydraulic System Monitoring Unit (HSMU)
via the Doors and Slides Management Control Unit (DSMCU) to activate
the EMP and control the Cargo Door Control valve (CDCV) to port
hydraulic pressure to the Lower Deck Cargo Door Actuator (LDCDA).
The cargo door actuation is inhibited with:
- No "on ground" signal.
- Any engine is running, (same side as the Cargo Doors).
- The cargo loading system in operation mode.
- The cargo door latched.
ALTERNATE OPERATIONS.
- If there is an aircraft power loss, door opening can be achieved by a
standard power tool (air or battery powered).
- If there is a failure within the hydraulic system it is possible to open the
door by external lifting devices.

In emergency situations when the slides are ARMED, the slides are
deployed automatically when the inner door handle is lifted. The LDC
sends a signal to swivel the door open and a signal to the slide squib
to initiate slide inflation.
Door Sill Height Measurement Function
The DSMS selects correct slide inflation configuration by measuring
the actual door sill height through a dedicated Pitch Attitude Sensor
(PAS).
Residual Cabin Pressure Indication
The Autonomous Standby Power Supply UNIT (ASPSU) detects
differential cabin pressure by monitoring the signal from two
Differential Pressure Sensors.
The ASPSU illuminates the Residual cabin pressure indicator lights

Cabin Pressurization Inhibition

The DSMCU gives signals to the Cabin Pressure Control System
(CPCS) using door status information from the LDCs.
If all related doors (passenger and cargo) are Closed, Latched and
Locked (CLL), the DSMCU send an "all doors CLL" signal to the
Cabin Pressure Controller (CPC) and the Full Digital Air Generation
Unit Controller (FDAC) to allow cabin pressure generation.

DOORS SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE (1)

Doors System Safety Items
When you work on the doors system, make sure that you obey all the
AMM safety precautions. This will prevent injury to persons and/or
damage to the aircraft. Here is an overview of main safety precautions
relative to the operation of the doors.
If the wind speed is more than the limitations, when opening doors, it
can damage doors and the aircraft structure.
For doors operation, you must respect the wind speed limitations.
Remaining cabin pressure can cause the sudden opening of the door and
could injure or kill people and damage the aircraft.
Do not open passenger doors or the cargo doors if red warning lights are
flashing.
When you open the cargo door, make sure that the access platform or
other equipment is not in the travel range of the door. If you do not do
this, it can cause injury and damage to the aircraft.
The travel range of the door must be kept clear.
Due to the A380 dimensions, doors are very high.
Thus, for safety reasons, any people who want to work on the doors must
take precautions.

Doors System Ground Support Equipment
Some doors system maintenance tasks require Ground Support Equipment
(GSE).
As an example, a GSE used for door system maintenance is the Safety
Barrier tool.
The safety barrier is necessary to block the door aperture when the door
is removed or open.
To fit the safety barrier, the tie-down fittings at each end of the safety
barrier are locked into locking fittings on the fuselage.
Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) for the tasks.
Also, refer to the illustrated Tool and Equipment Manual (TEM) for the
complete list of the tools.
