Project Description
A Peace Corps Response Volunteer is needed to serve as Capacity Building and Fundraising
Specialist for the Civic Society Development Centre (CSDC). CSDCs mission is to advocate for
and integrate vulnerable women and children into Georgian society through informal
education and protection of their civil rights. Currently, the NGO is working on projects such
as: providing life skills trainings for street children, conducting educational campaigns at
schools for parents to support integration of street children into society, and organizing
trainings on personal development, social media, and other subjects for women and girls living
in conflict affected regions, namely Abkhazia. CSDC is also running internet TV programs that
promote youth civic engagement and their active participation in the society. Even though
CSDC has experience in implementing numerous projects in the field of street children and
women, they have identified a few areas that they need to strengthen like grant writing,
fundraising, advocating for beneficiaries, and English language skills of their staff.

A Capacity Building and Fundraising Specialist with experience in proposal writing, fundraising
and working with marginalized groups is needed to strengthen the capacity of the staff of
CSDC. By the end of the assignment, the PCRV will have: 1) Increased the capacity of at least
five staff members in grant writing and fundraising; 2) Developed and implemented at least
two projects in the areas of street children, homeless kids, conflict affected women and teen
girls for integration into the society; 3) Increased CSDC staff capacity in English language
skills; 4) Developed and planned at least one public awareness campaign on street children
integration; 5) Designed and conducted workshops/trainings in advocacy. The goal of this
assignment is for CSDC to improve its organizational capacity in areas that they have
identified above.
