the Primary Care setting, as advertised on your website. I believe that my education and the
considerable variety of medical experiences gained in previous clinical work makes me an ideal
candidate for the position you have available.

I have developed a variety of skills over the past fifteen years working as a Licensed Practical
Nurse and as a Registered Nurse in hospital settings. I worked in the ICU Step Down unit, Pre
Admissions and Same Day Services units at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center providing
all aspects of patient care and extensive education to the critically ill, as well as pre and post-
operative patients. I worked as a Registered Nurse providing triage, labor, delivery, and recovery
to patients at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. I also have extensive experience
working in a level II nursery at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center with well and sick
babies. Previous nursing experience and education have provided me the opportunity to be a
member in a vast variety of patient care, which will benefit me as a new Family Nurse
Practitioner.
The opportunity to work as a member of your team is appealing because it will allow me to
continue to be diversified in the care and treatment of patients with multiple problems. As a
Family Nurse Practitioner student, I obtained some of my professional clinical hours working
with Dr. Brian Shafer, D.O. and Cynthia McGlothlin, WHNP here at Holston Medical Group,
along with providers at other organizations. I developed the skills to diagnose acute and chronic
illnesses as well as develop a treatment plan for the patient, manage sports injuries, acute and
chronic orthopedic disorders, and pain. I am also skilled in arthrocentesis of the knee and intra-
articular joint injections. I welcome the challenge to work in collaboration with physicians, other
medical staff, patients and their families, and I am confident that I can make a valuable
contribution to your team.

I have worked independently in healthcare settings for many years. I have strong organizational,
interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills. I am highly
motivated in accomplishing goals and always striving for opportunities to learn and enhance my
