What was Selection?
After the Jews were unloaded and
separated into male and female lines,
they were put into a process called
selection. Typically, those over 14
years old and fit for work were sent
to one side of the unloading ramp,
and the rest were sent to the other
side. The elderly, and women with
children were sent directly to the line
of prisoners who were doomed to
death in gas chambers.
