Global warming

Abstract:
In this project the purpose of the research was to survey students at L.A.G.S and
ask them How important was global warming to them and why. We surveyed about 19
students and based on the graphs they all strongly care about this issue. We also ask
them to write their citizenship status and based on the graphs most of the people we
surveyed were LEGAL CITIZEN.
In the methods section our group had to choose a strategy to collect information
from people in the community. We had to to come up with an open ended question in
order to get information needed.
In addition in our results section we talk about, What are the trends and outliers
from data
To conclude In our Evidence we talk about the information collected from our services to
not only ask within school limits or community but everywhere because all opinions
matter.
Introduction
(Bryan)

Our group chose this issue because we thought it was a primary problem and carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere is causing global warming. This issue is important because it
is affecting the world, it is trapping heat and warming the planet. Its also affecting
animals and melting ice caps and the sea level is putting arctic animals in danger, and
they are leading to extinction. We know this because WorldWatch Institute Website
shows us a text that says: We will expect more severe storms, HEAT WAVES, floods,
wildfiresPolar bears and other animals living in the Arctic will get affected by the
increases of the temperature (How Does Climate). This evidence shows that due to
global warming animals in the arctic and other places where temperatures should be
under 0 degrees will be in danger if they dont have that temperature, they might not
survive and this will lead them to extinction. Lets start for understanding more about
global warming.

Paragraph #2

We found a quote on www.worldwatch.org website, the quote says: Most of the

outgoing heat is absorbed by greenhouse gas molecules and re-emmited in all directions,
warming the surface of the Earth and the lower atmosphere With this in mind, it is
evident that greenhouse gases are collected in Earths atmosphere, Greenhouse gas is also
produced by human activists like burning fossil fuels to produce electricity (Questions
and Answers). Even if the society is not ready to stop burning fossil fuels, we wont stop
global warming and consequences will come to our world.

Paragraph #3
My second piece of evidence is a quote found on www.climate.nasa.gov website, the
quote says: ... Global warming is a gradual warming of the earth from human activities.
It is characterized by a high concentration of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere(Shaftel)
) This evidence clearly proves that temperatures will obviously rise and the number and
range of agricultural pests such as insects and diseases will increase. We will also expect
more severe and frequent storms. There could be drought in the middle of the continents.
There could be rising sea levels that would destroy coastal areas. There could be serious
health problems. There could also be an increase in skin cancer. Now that you understand
more about what Global Warming is and why is it important, lets examine its major
causes.

Paragraph #4
Finally, we come to the biggest cause of global warming. -Ourselves

Methods
(Pablo)

We surveyed teenagers and one adult. A strength was that most of the answers the
teenagers gave were nuanced to our open ended question. A weakness we had was that
we couldnt survey people in the community on time because we got careless with the
surveys. Because of that, we had to survey our classmates in rush.
P2:
In our survey we included an open ended question. It was How important is
global warming to you? Explain. This kind of open ended question is a strength because
the responses are mostly complexed and not simple.
P3:
A weakness our group had was not being able to survey the people in our
community. Based on this evidence, we can infer that because of this, we couldnt get
better answers. Most of the answers the teenagers responded with were all pretty much
the same. If we were to have surveyed people in our community we would have probably
received non biased responses.
P4:
So as you can see this showed a strength and weakness from our methods section.
In the following paragraph we will explain the results we got for our surveys.

Results
(Ever)
What are the trends and outliers from your data?
Paragraph 1:
We collected data from 19 people and out of those 19 people we surveyed, 18
students are from l.a.s.g.s. and one teacher(adults). In our results we found out
the less than 3 people care about our planet or others. We could see this by some
people responding with not caring for our planet for example.
Write a transition sentence.
P2:In our graphs we could see that it's really small that % of people the love our planet.
This evidence proves that people only care about themselves and they don't care about
what's going to happen after they die.

P3:
In addition a response we received was I dont care, Im going to die by the time
the planet gets fucked up. This is an example of self center because they just care about
them self center about what's going on right but they don't try to help to keep our planet
clean because they argue the they going to be dead by that time, but they don't care about
their generation.

Paragraph 4:
As a conclusion you could see people our self center and they don't care about
the issue of global warming. In addition our online research question influenced us by
coming up with global warming questions and asking people about them.

Discussion:
Adan Can
P:1
Our study was really useful to find out what people had to say about global warming.
But I believe that our study can not be used to influence policies to solving this problem
because we did not enough information.

P:2
Evidence:
Our graphs were really biased because all our analyzed data was from school.
This is an example of convenience because we only got data from students at L.A.G.S.
In our graph below you can see what people think about global warming.

This supports our argument because we can see how much the people dont care about
our planet. In addition people dont care about our planet especially teenagers under 20.
P:3
In our graphs we can see that most of the responses we got were from people
under the age 20. The reason behind that is because we collected surveys only in
our school.

If we were to have collected data outside of school we would of have more

responses with different ages and races. In addition global warming must be a top
issue.

P:4
As a conclusion you can see how teenagers dont care about the issue of
global warming and only care about themselves. In addition our online research
influenced our survey questions to question all not just our school.
