Introduction

We started this experiment on March 9,2017. The objective of this experiment was to test the

current flow of the Breadboard and to find out if the 3 LED bulbs have the same brightness from

the resistors. I was able to learn many new information about these kinds of circuits and how to

wire them correctly. From this experiment, I was able to gather information about how the whole

current flow system works, and learned that connecting wires properly is a needed skill for the

future.

Materials

Breadboard
1 battery
3 LEDs
6 wires
One 100ohm resistor
One 470ohm resistor

Procedure

Assemble the circuit

Test the bulbs
Place in resistors
Connect wires from the resistor(Negative)

Results

100ohm resistor- 5/100=0.05 Amps

1000ohm resistor 5/1000= 0.005 Amps
470ohm resistor- 5/470= 0.0106

Resistor

The brightness of the LEDs was adjusted by the number of ohms on the resistor. From these

three resistors, the brightest resistor was the 100ohm, 470ohm was the second brightest resistor,

and 1000ohm was the least bright resistor.

Discussion

There were three lights that showed different brightnesss as I connected them into the

Breadboard. My hypotheses stated that the resistors are not going to make a huge impact in this

experiment. My hypotheses were wrong after the experiment was finished. My hypotheses were

incorrect because the three diverse types of resistors made an significant impact on the lights.

The resistors adjusted the brightnesss of the lights. The resistors were 100ohm, 470ohm, and

1000ohm. The 100ohm colour code is Brown, Black, Brown, Gold, the 40ohm colour code is

Yellow, Violet, Brown, Gold, and the 1000ohm colour code is Brown, Black, Red, Gold. These

resistors control the amount of electricity going to the lights, so because the volts are unbalanced,

without resistors a circuit could explode. So, it is important to have resistors in the circuit and it

is important to wire them correctly.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the brightness of the three LEDs was adjusted by the resistors. 100ohm resistor

was the brightest one of them all, 470ohm was the second brightest of them all, and 1000ohm
was the least bright of them all. The several types of resistors had different brightnesss. The

brightness was adjusted by the number of ohms in the resistor. The resistor with the most number

of ohms had the least bright light.
