Contextualize Leadership Development

I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course will concentrate in the character, qualities, and others skills that leaders
should develop. The course through the readings, class discussions, leadership research,
and guest speakers will help the students to have a clearer understanding of how others
and themselves perceived and define a leadership role in the church or daily life.

II. OBJECTIVE OF THE CLASS


There are six questions that the course should help the students to analyze:
1. Do I know my strength and weaknesses as a leader?
2. What is my leadership style?
3. Do I inspire others to follow my leadership style?
4. What attitudes as leaders should I develop to motivate others to create a team
environment?
5. What do I need to do to recognize opportunities and evaluate risk taking as I

IV. LEADERSHIP PROJECTS:


1. The student will select a Biblical leader excluding Jesus Christ; thereafter, the
student must analyze the style, character, skills, qualities, strengths and weakness
that the Biblical leader shows through a specific event on his or her life.

2. The student must write an in-class own definition of a leader at the beginning of
the semester and towards the end of the semester write another definition of a
leader and compared it.
